It'd be awesome if Doom 4 had remixes of classic Doom songs. Of course, though, that seems about as likely to happen as the game having non-regenerating health
About Doom 64, I never played it (I also never had an N64). Any good?
It's more of a Doom 3 than Doom 3 is.
Moon◊I swear if any new Doom has regenerating health and weapon carrying limits and an emphasis on cover then I'm going to declare that franchise dead as shit. That shit ruined Duke Nukem Forever, I won't let it ruin Doom 4.
I know some mods do implement that but I don't really go for that sort of thing. I like a "man's" shooter where hiding behind a rock doesn't get you all your health back. Get medikits or live with it bitch.
That 007 Legends at least did something right by letting you choose which one you wanted.

I personally preffer Doom 3 over Doom 64, its seems too out of place for me, and the monsters designs were meh
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/The game originally did take cues from Call of Duty. They have since reset development though, so that may not be the case anymore.
Starting to think no Doom 4 might be better than what they have planned.
Fuck yes id still has brains after all.
Is John Romero still attached to id or at least with id and the Doom franchise? I know he'd probably want to wipe the stain of Big Sword off of him
He hasn't been with id for over a decade now. I don't think he was involved in 3 at all.

Somehow you know that the time is right.Oh. Sorry.
Still, I'd liek to see a WAD that implements the Big Sword
Thank. Fucking. God. That didn't become the case.
But damn, it sounds like id is having a lot of internal troubles. I hope they can make this game happen, and I don't care how grand-scale it is, as long as the gameplay remains true to the classic Doom games that made them famous.
So has anyone else tried the Brutal Doom mod? I just got it yesterday and it's great fun. Like if someone finally made the game that the comic seems to be based on.
Somehow you know that the time is right. It gets brought up every time somebody mentions Doom pretty much everywhere I look, which is kinda disappointing, because while it's a fun diversion, I've never thought it to be anywhere near as good as everyone else seems to. I much prefer playing with the default gamelogic (albeit with mouselook and Things that aren't infinitely tall but still)
Moon◊Brutal Doom is very well-made, although usually I can't stand to play it for more than a half hour. Maybe it's too difficult, or I don't like the reloading without telling me how much ammo is in the clip, or I don't like that apparently firing a shotgun from point-blank range HURTS YOU TOO
The point blank shotgun thing annoyed me too.
Honestly, Cyberdreams is still my favourite Doom megawad. God its clever.
:/ I haven't tried Cyberdreams yet...
I'm still a Psychophobia fanboy. Still haven't beaten the second chapter tho.

I couldn't get into Cyberdreams. I'm more of a fighter than a puzzle solver.
Psychophobia is still probably the greatest wad I've played. I only wish it had more unique monsters that weren't recolors or sprite rips.
I kinda liked what I played of Cyberdreams. Never finished it, though.
(Wait. Cyberdreams? Clearly I must defeat Cyberdemons by throwing rings at them...)
Moon◊Since I've successfully necro'd the thread, I might as well post this.
I thought Cyberdreams was really clever, having to beat Cybers with brains.
Anyway, I did something new (not that I could do it until recently): I actually played Doom online. Or I tried to. First, I joined a Mega Man Deathmatch server, only to realize that it's boring. Then I tried three Cooperative ones, but in two of them, the players seemed to be more interested in shooting each other, after they killed all enemies, than actually finishing the level (seriously, why don't they just play Deathmatch or Last Man Standing?). The third one went pretty well until the connection got interrupted for some reason.
Yeah, it could have gone better, but the last one introduced me to a nice multiplayer wad, called Samsara. Basically, it allows you to play as various protagonists from other FPS (like Heretic or Duke Nukem), with the weapons and gameplay features of their own games. Quite neat.
Generally, there are fewer servers than I expected. I wonder if that's because I only used Doomseeker to search for them.

People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.I always noticed that when playing online, everyone else moves around like fucking Sonic on speed. I barely get anything.
People playing online have had a looooooooong time to practice.
On co-op its fun though. I can sit back and let the others do the hard work.
True but I wanted N64 Kitchen Ace
