@Victin The character sheet I made up is here.

@StarBee The series largely just treats Christianity like it does other mythologies, although it's featured a bit more prominent. Admittedly it takes a few liberties and yeah the God depicted is pretty Old Testament, but it's revealed in Apocalypse (if you don't mind spoilers) that YHVH, the giant floating golden head who created the universe, is just an avatar of a higher, benevolent power known as the Great Will/the Axiom. So I guess that God is ultimately good it's just that not having an equal made one of His incarnations become super controlling. Also Satan is YHVH's right-hand demon and he's separate from Lucifer which can be seen as a correct interpretation but it'll probably confuse anyone who doesn't know this.

I mean, works have done stuff like that before?

I think it'd be really weird if you're actually Christian yourself, but I'm not sure I understand the problem.

To clarify, YHVH is a rogue avatar, which is why the Axiom created people to destroy him.

I'm basically curious if I'll end up offending someone when I start my SMT quest, and seeing as you're Christian and the series deals with a lot of elements from Abrahamic religions I wanted you to weigh in. YHVH doesn't really show up in what I'm planning to do, but the angels do and their endgame is kinda messed up. In SMT IV their plan is to turn Tokyo into a black hole and destroy all literature that leaked into the peaceful Kingdom of Mikado they've established and basically set the world back and completely remove suffering but at the price of free will and countless innocent lives. My quest is heavily based on SMT IV so among other things this endgame for the Law faction will remain intact, hence the spoiler.

But Lucifer is Jesus.

I wonder if I want/will/can/should play in that Jo Jo game.

Well, honestly, I wont know until it happens, but nearly everyone else here is pretty chill about such things. Other Christians might be offended, though. I don't think most would join your game if they knew about it ahead of time, though.

But if it's just the angels or whatever, it might not be so bad, unless theyre like doing this directly under YHVH, which they probably would be anyways :U

Well, I'm glad you're being a good sport about this. I suppose it'll mostly come down to how it plays out and whether I can make damage formulas without a defense stat that aren't broken.

Why did SMT IV think not having a defense stat was a good idea?

Well, that's the point; Lucifer is a chaotic monstrosity

I think it has something to do with the Archangels being naturally able to fuse together, while Lucifer needs to improvise with a human
