To block it. Even against califa Sanji had no problem playing defense.

I know I hope there is a small fight between Big Mom v Sanji and Luffy next week. Still can't get over that Big Mom got the Soul Fruit by eating Mother Carmel. Wow
Besides, no matter how ugly a woman is Sanji will not attack them. Even if it's an Abusive Parent like Big Mom. I mean poor Chiffon even after she has denounced Big Mom as her mother, it does show she still wants her mother to love her again. Give this woman a hug.
I actually could't feel bad for Chifon's failed attempt at emotional manipulation.
I thought it was less "emotional manipulation" and more "Oh god, please don't kill my hubby and baby, Momma!"
Sincerely not sure whether to take they seriously at face value
Serious. I understand it, and it's not like I think any better of Big Mom, but the moment just couldn't resonate with me.
Her husband and child are at risk, so she would want to appeal to her mother's better nature. Heck, Capone is the best thing that has happened to her life, especially due to the fact that she was physically abused before she was married to him.
You're not telling me anything I don't already know. I just didn't feel the moment.
I don't feel sympathy for her. She was trying to kill Big Mom. What did she think was going to happen?
I'm actually wondering why she and the baby are even there. I doubt anyone would really care since Big Mom doesn't even like to see her face, and at least that way there is some plausible deniability about not knowing about this.
But, yeah, she already made it clear she doesn't consider Big Mom, or any of her siblings, family anymore. And while that's certainly understandable, it's a two way street. Maybe calling it emotional manipulation wasn't the right phrasing, but really, can't feel too bad for her in this particular situation.

At this point she should know that shit won't work on Big Mom.
But since this is a near-death situation with her husband's life on the life I can't blame her for getting desperate.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."@Arha
Beating her up for years, because she shared her sister's face is one thing why she was on board with the assassination. As someone said, I think she was just desperate and was thinking it as a last resort to save Bege.

It certainly doesn't surprise me that a desperate wife and mother would try almost anything in hopes that her family's life would be spared. I can still feel for Chiffon because I'm fairly certain that, at that moment, she's scared out of her wits for what will happen not just to Bege, but her child as well.
While I DO feel for her, I think we should let people feel what they want to feel. If Arha and that other guy dont feel for her, awesome. Free World and all.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Yeah, where is Pudding in all of this and it makes me question if she really will switch sides or maybe she might just stay with her family? All I know is everything in this arc is unpredictable, and the ride is almost over.
I thought it ain't over until the Fat Lady sings, the fat lady being Big Mom.
Then its already over cause she sang earlier in the Arc.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."That was before the wedding though.
I don't really get why some of your are talking like we don't understand her position or that she's worried about Bege and her baby. It's not like blame her for trying or anything, I just can't get emotional about it.

Now she has to sing a new song about how she's going to kick the Germa 66 and the Strawhat Alliance's behinds.
Preferably while throwing Zeus and Prometheus around in an attempt to completely obliterate everyone who has "ruined" her party.
There were people wondering if Big Mom was actually going to be taken out permanently by the end of this arc. I never had that impression, and since they're still very much in "escape mode" I don't see it happening either.
Which is good. She's been very much built up to not be someone Luffy or any of them have a chance of beating, and that's with out all the others around.
Blocking an attack is different than launching an offensive.
We'll see how things proceed from here but I still don't get why people are hanging on for Sanji let to go of us vow. Given the context the story has provided and framed it in, it's not going to be treated as some big thing he's overcome. Oda has essentially made it a representation of Sanji's bond with Zeff and how it's never going to be broken. He's not going to back away from it.
