Both the Yasogami and Gekkoukan uniforms are predominately black.
Oh yeah, forgot about that. Thanks
-sigh-
if it being hermes boot doesnt have anything to do with the symbolism then it shouldnt be there.
none of p4's shadows had actual elements of mythological figures in them. a persona might share an element or two with the shadow, but at no point does a party member's shadow have a mythological figure tied to it. this is really bothering me, isis and hermes appearing in the last two shadows.
Yeah. The boot having the same look as Hermes's would work, and same for the Yukaribeast being bullheaded instead of a lone wolf or something, but the wing and the little Io-platform are just shoehorned in.
Although there is some room for random touches. I have no idea why Shadow Chie is a banana-head, for instance.
The P4 Shadows have elements of the Personas in them. Or vice versa, I suppose.
Shyosuke has Jiraiya's face, Shchie has Tomoe's colour scheme and hair, Shyukiko has a heart symbol on her chest like Konohana-Sakuya, Shkanji has the same build as Take-Mikazuchi, same with Shadow Teddie and Kintoki-Doji, and Shadow Rise has a satellite dish for a face like Himiko does.
I can't see any symbolic reason for Shadow Rise's face. Maybe something about the media, maybe? Shadow Junpei being stuck to Hermes's boot is fine, although it would maybe work better if it was the MC's shoe.

Song of the SirensRise is having troubles with finding her true self, so her Shadow's face is partially a censor mosaic.
I sure said that!yeah but i dont think any of those elements could specifically be tied to a mythological figure like say, hermes winged boots.
yosuke's frog shadow had jiraiya's face sure, but i dont think jiraiya's face is his iconic feature, and im fairly sure jiraiya didnt actually have anything resembling that as a face. thats why it feels like yosuke's jiraiya co-opted his shadow's features, and the same applies to everyone else (although i think kanji is the weird one here)
meanwhile you got yukari's cowhead which has no relevence to her issues and junpei's boot has hermes's most iconic feature on it, making it an unmistakable case of shadow tied to persona instead of the other way around. and that bothers me.

Yeah, the P3 Shadows are off to a bad start, since it does seem that he is trying to shoehorn in elements of the Persona at the last second, instead of trying to make like the P4 Shadows, which take cues from their Persona counterparts (or vice versa, whatever), but aren't just straight up themed after them.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.I stopped paying attention to these altogether.
To change the subject, I started playing vanilla P4 a couple days ago. Wow Shadow Kanji is tough. Are Shadow Teddie and Shadow Mitsuo this bad? Because Power Charge + Swift Strike was bad enough as it was.
Also don't worry about spoilertagging anything, I already know how the plot goes.
Shadow Teddie? Not really. His one painful attack he telegraphs like hell.
Shadow Mitsuo? He's worse than Shadow Kanji.
Don't PM me. We don't like being PMed.Shadow Mitsuo goes for your weaknesses. Be warned.
Song of the Sirens...
Guess I'd better get those wall skills huh.
Wall skills suck. Doesn't Mitsuo telegraph what element he's going you use anyway?
Yes. If you want to use Walls, use the same Wall what Shadow Mitsuo used.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!Or just guard with whoever's weak to it.
Still, because he is going to use the same spell three times in a row, it means you have to block three times with one character. Which doesn't sound like that much fun.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru! It means you should bring more than one healer, because it could be bad for you if Yukiko or Teddie get incapacitated. Maybe make sure the MC has at least one Persona that knows Mediarama.
Also, if Shadow Mitsuo gets a one more, he nearly always uses it to cast Megidola. Which is bad.
Song of the SirensOnly time I ever used a wall spell was for Chie when I was fighting Shadow Yukiko on Hard Mode.
If you want to waste 12sp it would probably be better to him with a tarunda or rakunda and then just guard on whichever spell he telegraphed for you.
You are given items to cast wall spells. Heck you can grow items to cast wall spells. Mind as well use the items. Mind you, its like one turn of any character vs. three turns of one character.
Like, say he starts using Bufu spells and you have Yukiko as your healer. Are you going to have her guard, you heal and have only two character attacking, or do you use some sort of wall to nullify her Bufu weakness, allowing her to heal and have three attackers?

Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru! You might as well use Makaracorn if you're bringing the garden into it. But me? I'd either use an attack reflect item on Yukiko or just have her guard while the MC carries any of the critical healing. After all, I'm not sure Yukiko even has Mediarama at that point while the MC certainly can, so you don't have to waste as many turns casting heals. Plus with a tarunda up he won't be hitting you too hard anyway and you'll be reducing the damage he does to your entire party instead of just one member. Frankly, sometimes I just ignore that the enemy might get a One More if I really need a party member to do something that turn.
I'm pretty sure Yukiko should have Mediarama by the time you fight Shadow Mitsuo.
Song of the SirensI think the last time I played she didn't have it. She gets it at what, level 43 or something like that? Actually, that was exactly right now that I look it up, go me. Shadow Mitsuo is tuned for something like level 45 right? So I don't get that high since I have the -exp option on and then didn't realize that was the reason she didn't have it when I did Mitsuo last time.
Spring of Birth is taking its sweet time for a movie that isn't getting dubbed. Just saying...
