The problem is Kyon. Switch to any of the other characters and you've got boatloads of undiscovered countries to explore.
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."But Kyon being drawn into these larger conflicts that he only barely understands is the entire point of the series. The world is bigger than him, but he's still at the center of it all. That contradiction forms the central atmosphere. Take that out and there's really no point since it's such an intentionally generic premise.
Maybe they're going to announce a new novel on Sunday?
That's what I took from that Haruhi Hunt site. Either that or something completely implausible.
I'm so sorry that my avatar doesn't appear fully in the shot, but the cat was threatening the photographer.was future adult kyon ever explained?
we only see a glimpse of him in the disappearance movie.. and then in the hospital where kyon says he need to rehearse his lines for the future..

Fighting crime, trying to save the world~I know Kyon from a little while after Disappearance appeared during the final time travel snafu there, but adult Kyon? I don't remember that from the novels or manga (never got around to watching the movie). That's what Kyon needed to "rehearse his lines" for in the novels at least, by the way, so he'd say the right thing when he showed up to his past self.
@Bubbles: That wasn't Future Adult Kyon, that was Kyon From Shortly After Christmas Dinner.
It's been fun.huh i don't understand still, but okay thanks for telling me the novel.
Fighting crime, trying to save the world~And yeah, he eventually does go back and close that loop. He put it off for like, an entire book, because he thought he was invincible until he did so (think Arthur Dent being told he killed a man somewhere he had never been). He only changed his mind when the Brigade got stuck in a very dangerous Eldritch Location.

Two books. Disappearance was book four and he doesn't close the look until the start of book seven.
I think the author just has writer's block.
God knows I'd try my damn best not having writer's block if they paid me that much money. And if others (editorials, adaptations staff, etc) counted on me to keep their own incomes steady and safe as well.
At that point, you aren't exactly a kid writing fanfiction on their spare time.

it's a complex plot afterall.. what with time travel and dimensions.. and haruhi herself is big trouble lol.
i'm just sad that there's no anime continuations for this series..

Fighting crime, trying to save the world~I believe he has done some other stuff besides Haruhi.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFmGNqji4u0He does have another manga (or light novel, not sure which) series running, or he did when I was in Japan last year.
It's been fun.If you find a ref for the author actually doing anything, please add.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nagaru_Tanigawa
The more I dig into it, the stronger the case for putting his face on milk cartons becomes, except of course that the Japanese don't drink milk.

"Show us the Galaxy Warp."huh, i thought i tried reading this new manga of this mangaka.. but i can't find it in his wiki lol
it has good plot and won a manga prize, but the somewhat eechi scene was a big turn off to me.
Fighting crime, trying to save the world~We're talking about the writer of the novel, not the manga.
He wrote for mangas also, back when he was alive.
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."...the author of the novels isn't dead. Or if he is, no one bothered to inform the general public.
I believe the manga in question is Amnesia Labyrinth
its pretty good but is also has some incest undertones
oh and some weird Literal Split Personality shenanigans thanks to some strange smoke
apparently the plot involves the main characters family being a bunch of assassins or some such
Haruhi Hunt is just an ARG for a Pachinko machine or some shit. Dont recommend getting too hype.
Wait, he worked on Dokuro-chan?!
Dokuro/Haruhi crossover pls.
He also worked on the original Black Rock Shooter movie
what now athiests?
I don't know the first thing about that franchise, so that tells me nothing, sorry.
What else has he worked on?

I don't see how the college flashforward changes anything, but I agree that the writer is out of ideas for where this series can go. Which I assume is why he hasn't written anything since then.
