Attack = Base * 1.5, STAT = (Weapon Type) AT Rating, EQUIP = WEAPON Rating
Defense = Base, STAT = (Weapon Type) DE Rating, EQUIP = ARMOR Rating
Random# = (160...192)/256

( Attack - Defense ) * Random# * Modifier = Final Damage

Example:

Standard Attack

STAT(Attack) = Cutting AT = 24
STAT(Defense) = Cutting DE = 31
EQUIP(Attack) = WEAPON = 50
EQUIP(Defense) = ARMOR = 50

Attack = 1.5 * ( 24 + 24 * ( (50 - 1 ) / 5 )^1.1 ) = ~479
Defense = ( 31 + 31 * ( (50 - 1 ) / 5 )^1.1 ) = ~413
Random# = (160...192)/256 = 185/256
Modifier = 1

( 479 - 413 ) * 185/256 * 1 = ~48

City Point - Virginia, 1865
River Queen

Once upon a time, City Point was hardly deserving of its name. Always a small town, its existence justified by the trade and travel going up and down the James River. Just one of many docking towns between Richmond and Washington.

Then came the war. Raging back and forward between the Union and the rebellion, armies passing by like the changing seasons. The city folk cast their lot with the rebellion. Young men went off to fight, women supported them from the rear. All trade was directed to supporting the war effort.

Then the war came home. After three years of inconclusive fighting, the Union was pressing down on the Confederate capital. This was General Grant's army now. The Hammer of the North swung hard and fast. After the chaos of the Wilderness, the savagery of Spotsylvannia, the horror of Cold Harbor, the Union was now at the enemy gates. Like a glacier making its way across the continent, the Union army closed in the rebel forces, besieging the capital and rail depot they were protecting.

With the conquering army came vast changes to City Point. Most of the inhabitants fled, there were more boys in blue uniforms than men in top hats and ladies in dresses on the streets now. Soldiers and supplies were continuously funneled to the front lines overland, either by wagon or rail or just on foot, or from the river. The latter had rail lines for carts right up onto the docks.

The hustle and bustle of military life did not extend to one ship resting in port however. The River Queen steam liner carried no cargo, or perhaps she carried the most important cargo, depending on how one looked at things. The thick walls of the ship shielded the interior from the din outside, leaving only the quiet conversation of the four men.

"Might this end without further bloodshed?"

The bright, wide eyes of the president might have looked out of place on his weary, wrinkled face. But Ulysses Simpson Grant had learned after several meeting with his commander-in-chief that although his lanky frame could seem much like a lifeless skeleton with skin stretched over it most of the time, there was strong inner vitality in that tired body, animating every feature like a dancing fire.

As for himself, General Grant allowed himself a brief inhalation from his cigar before answering. "That depends entirely on General Lee, Mr. President. I think, though, there will have to be one more large engagement before this matter is settled."

From across the room from Lincoln, General William T. Sherman nodded in silent agreement. To Lincoln's left Admiral David Porter made no comment or gesture. The president's pained expression spoke volumes on its own.

(Two face) Harvey dent's interview

Hope you guys enjoy our first character interview.Please t ell me if you want to be next!

Interviews aren't canon as they break the fourthwall. But in the spirit of the RP and to give them context, so they don't feel as answering to the air they are being done by Intrepid Reporter Chloe Sullivan.

Daily planet's interview column. By Chloe S. Sullivan.

Chloe: Today we have a very special interviewee who as agreed to do answer the question you, our audience send us. Ex-lawyer, past D.A, lover of dual natures and current crime lord running for mayor, Harvey Dent also known as Two face. He has agreed to lend us a bit of his time and talk about his struggles with rival crime bosses, aliens, crazy wizards and even against himself. Without further ado here is what he had to say:

1.-Does your face itch, or are the nerve endings dead? And if it does itch, does it bother both of you, or just one?

   I don't know, how about we throw some acid in your face, you can find out firsthand!   

"The nerve endings are dead. Do you truly believe we would still be able to function if they were not?

2.-How does one obtain a two-headed coin?

   Is this seriously a question? They invented google for a reason!   

"You can typically find fake versions at any novelty shop. As for real coins that were misprinted with two heads, those are much harder to obtain."

3-Do you think of yourself as two different people, or two sides of the same person?

"Two sides of the same."

   People like to think we're unique, that no one else is like us. Those people are fucking lying to themselves.   

"Everyone has a dark side, whenever or not they like to admit it. It may not necessarily be as...violent as my own, but it exists."

   And anyone who says otherwise is full of shit!   

4-What is keeping you away from Gotham? What do you like about your new home?

"The same thing that is keeping half the criminals away. Batman."

   Seriously, fuck him. Always fucking with our plans.   

"He does not understand that he is part of the problem. He broke the mob, yes. Child's play. But he ushered in something much worse, and his continued crusading has proven an ineffective method of control."

   as for the other part of the question, we like that there's no fucking batman!   

"We like that the political situation was so weak that we were able to quickly emerge as front-runner for the mayor's seat. That was a convenient twist of fate."

5-Are you really IN LOVE with poison ivy?

"That....is a complicated question"

   Short answer, sort of, but he's too much of a pussy to risk it because he knows exactly what the fuck I would do if he did.   

"...I will not dignify that with a response."

Why, cause you know it's true?

Two Face simply rolls his eyes.

6-Can I ask you some legal questions?

   That depends. You gonna pony up the consultation fee? Time is fucking money!   

"We have, in the past, advised some of our fellow Gotham criminals in their criminal proceedings. Many don't typically need it, the insanity defense being a popular option that does not require much effort in Gotham. Penguin is a frequent one, when his latest lawyer makes a mistake and gets shot."

   Then we get to charge him more as blackmail! Good times.   

"We will consider it, for the right price. These elections cost a lot of money after all."

7-if you didn't have a coin, how would you chose anything?

   Choose? We'd just be back to what happened before it, stuck in a constant fucking struggle for control and randomly switching who was in control.   

"The coin, you see, was adapted as a compromise between us. There was a great many things we could not agree on, and after some...unfortunate events, I convinced him to negotiate."

   Forced, more like. I still think you were bluffing when you threatened to off yourself   

"And yet you never tested me on that. Curious."

8-If you flipped a coin to decide reforming yourself, would you stop being a criminal?

"We tried that at first. Didn't work."

   Come on, tell em why, Dent   

"We tried staying in the asylum, reforming. Nothing they tried worked."

   I can't be killed. Not without killing Dent too.   

"After months with no progress, we decided that we were stuck like this. In that time, even stuck in the asylum, it was clear to that the government was unequipped to deal with the new threat that Batman had caused to emerge. A new tactic was needed. A new method of control. We looked to the past for inspiration. In the past, the stranglehold of the mob had held Gotham's crazy's in check. When they fell, their protection fell with them, and Gotham fell into chaos."

   God, I'm bored. How long you gonna go on, Dent? They got other questions to ask!   

"So we decided that, in order to correct the mistake, we would have to rebuild the power and control of the mobs of old. In order to control the criminals of Gotham, we would have to become a power they would respect and fear. That would only be possible by becoming criminals ourselfs.

   Ok, he's done. NEXT QUESTION!   

9-Are you still disbarred?

"Yes. The board did not take kindly to our initial rampage after the incident."

   Assholes. You're better off without them looking over your shoulder!    "I would prefer them over you."

   Fuck you too, Dent   

10-How do you feel about Lefay and Savage around?

"Savage provides money and connections for the election. We cannot trust him fully as of yet. But he is a necessary component to the plan."

   I still think we could have done it without him. We'd only have needed to rob a few banks to fund it.   

"At considerable cost and risk."

   Pussy   

"As for Lefay, she has her uses, but her involvement in our lives has proven much more trouble then anticipated."

   All this magic bullshit gets really fucking annoying after a while!
