After discovering their stuff on The Escapist Magazine I have become obsessed with the sketch-comedy group known as Loading Ready Run. For those who have cared or noticed my existence I've recently been pimping their links out and they're all I seem to be watching on the net recently so I figured I may as well do something interesting, so then I thought "I haven't gotten into this live-blog thingy yet. So why not?"

No particular time table or format but I will be doing videos in chronological order form their weekly LRR set in this section here.

Their Main website is here.

I'm actually surprised at how long these guys have been going on and I've heard so little about them. The size of the net, I suppose.

These are the names and faces to remember.

Another lovely note, these guys are Canadian (eh?) Which gives me a chance to take a nice long glance at what Canadians of the geeky kind find to be humorous. So without further ado, let's watch!

Ready Set Go:

Quantum Documentary

  • One of my favorite episodes.
  • It's like a Troper's dream. I think if TV Tropes had one of many TV series or movies, one or quite a few of them would be exactly like this documentary, a scarily meta and entirely self-referential thing that exists on an endless loop of analyzing itself and it's pieces as it occurs.
  • It's well done for one of their beginning and more amateur-ish vids. Film quality is pretty poor but this is 2004 here.
  • Paul has a really nice beard.
  • You can just tell Graham is the main guy.
  • This video makes me feel weird in it's uncanny-ness.
  • I prefer the modern and faster version of their intro, it sands smoother. This one just makes it so obvious it's ancient.
    • By internet standards, ancient by internet standards.
    • I mean this internet place moves fast, 2004 is like a lifetime ago, man.
  • One can probably interpret this as slightly boring or perhaps merely chuckle worthy.

The Mirror

  • And for today's episode we test special effects, this must've been new-fangled back in 2004.
    • Especially for a an amateur home thing.
  • Reversed logic and reason huh? Which means George Bush saves our economy and he's a prick while Dick Cheney is no longer a dick.
  • The Nickelback joke was pretty funny.
    • But who's Creed?
  • Reversed logic and reason, eh? Which means the genetelia is reversed? Eww...?
    • Wait, that means, MPreg works in the mirror universe! Gah!
    • So women have penises and still have breasts and look feminine. Fascinating, it's a shame this universe is not explored further.
  • That glowing light means he got out, since obviously their tech wasn't good enough in 2004 for something more interesting
    • Not sure how'd it'd be pulled off anyway.
  • Funny? Only in a "Fascinating" way than a "Ha-ha" sort of way.

Who Watches Movies?

  • Apparently bearded people with strangely cool voices.
  • You paid good money to watch Battlefield Earth? You poor poor soul.
  • Nice use of irony but it just gives me a mental smile.
    • Make me laugh, Loading Ready Runners! You're Comedians!
  • Things'll spice up when Morgan comes in, I'm sure of it.
  • Ever notice the size of Paul's eyebrows?

Door to Door

  • MORGAN! Yeay! Now things'll get fun!
  • Satan? Sorry, I'm more of a Beelzebub person myself.
  • Morgan is surprisingly accepting of Satanists...
  • Notice Graham turning up the heat.
    • It's not important
    • Seriously, don't expect any Chekhovs, it's pointless.
  • Wow, these Satanist guys are well rehearsed, could give the Mormons and Jehovah's witnesses a run for their money.
  • Kukuku, Book of Stan, obviously these guys are poorly funded if they don't have editors on board to notice they just published a religious text dedicated to This guy
    • Actually I could totally go for Stan Lee-ism.
  • Irate with power? The heck those that mean?
  • Huh, I didn't know Vatican was holy book.
  • Hot nuns? WHOOOO!
  • How do you consume doom?
    • MORGAN used LOGIC
    • It's SUPER EFFECTIVE
    • SATANISTS used THE POPE-MOBILE
    • But Nothing Happened.
    • SATANISTS are now CONFUSED
    • They in-fight in their confusion.
  • The East Orthodox don't like socks? THE MONSTERS!
  • Note to to self: Don't do macrame.
  • SATANISTS LEFT
    • MORGAN won.
    • MORGAN kept his MORTAL SOUL for winning.
  • This video is ADEQUATELY FUNNY.

On your Marks, Get Set, Go:

Jangles and Jones

  • (An opportunity for Graham and Morgan to try out new and funny costumes
    • The costumes work, they most certainly look like 80's buddy cop stereotypes.
  • A Rule breaker and a rule maker... That... Doesn't sound like your normal team up. I think one of them is supposed to be a rule follower?
  • You ca tell generic crook guy is a crook becuase he wears a mask
  • Why are they all at an abandoned lot anyway? Crime slow that day?
  • USE YOUR GUNS! You're 'police aren't you? Or are guns an American thing? I always assumed so.
    • I'm so glad the Canadians are enlightened enough to not have to use guns to solve their problems, elaborate chase scenes are far more nonsensical and nobody dies.
  • That rock the crook threw? Totally didn't hit Jangles, what's up with that?
  • You gotta love this music, it's so groovy.
  • This part of the chase with a play on the scooby doo door sequence is definitely funny.
  • Oh hey, I didn't know they had 4:00 tea in Canada as well as England. I wonder if it's for anybody who lives under the Queen.
  • Really? A Banana? But that's so... Retro... oh wait, right, nigh forgot the format.
  • The ending is Priceless!

The LRR Year One Retrospective

  • Nice hats. Well, Graham's is nice
  • Nice gay joke.
  • Yes, not that anybody noticed, and frankly nobody notices now. Sorry.
  • A Brief History of lame, I would've watched that.
  • Poor James...
  • Girly Magazine quizzes? I'd watch that.
  • Men with pumpkins on heads? I'd watch that.
  • An Alternative to telemarketers I would've watched that.
  • 14 ways to eat fries/ I'd watch that
  • Fascinating retrospective interruption. Split screen didn't work too well.
  • Ways to make someone leave a room? I'd watch that.
  • SERIOUSLY! WHERE ARE THESE VIDEOS!?
  • Brilliant recreation of the Quantum Documentary. Now you've just made it even MORE quantum. GAH!
  • Aww, Andy is my favorite guy, I would've loved to have seen his multi-talentedness.
  • Arrogant Worms?
  • The introduction to Bill's ability to eat anything. I wish I had seen the video, I am now curious to know what the concoction was.
  • I didn't know Machinima was as old as 2004.
  • 24? Never heard of it.
  • An interruption of "Who watches movies"? Wait, it wasn't even that interesting, how did it get so popular?
  • Simulacra? Cool sounding word.
  • ... Wow, they really loved that split-screen, it must've been quite the gimmick back then.
  • A retrospective on their retrospective?... Dear lord, this is confusing!
  • but seriously, WHERE ARE THESE VIDEOS!?

The Loading Ready Rap.

  • The intro to 64K, the rap group with the cast Graham, Morgan, and more recently introduced, Jeremy, the duck lover.
  • I beleive this is a parody of old day rap vids.
  • I hate rap, and yet this is far better than a lot of rap I hear.
  • Wow, you can really tell they're lip-synching.
  • Rap to fix a console, brilliant logic there.
  • What's up with these guys and the Commodore?
  • Ice Trey, ever notice rap stars have "ice" in their name? Vanilla Ice? Ice T? Ice Cube? and now Ice Trey? I mean at least G-Star and JP have named based on their real ones, Morgan's makes no sense.
  • Get your faces out of my face!
  • The dancing is hilarious. Their movements are perfect.
  • Well there's your problem, 1983? It's that old? Dear lord.
  • What's with the clocks?

Oh man, I love Loading Ready Run. I will be watching this Live Blog, but in my opinion there's not much amusing meat in your comments.

Also, Paul's my favorite of them all. And I can't wait until you get to "X ways to Y" videos.
