If Oscar Wilde had lived in our time, he would be a /b/tard.

Actually, scratch that. He does, and goes by Jethro Q Walrustitty.

Hey, he even has a child canonically, that's more than most characters. And you know there's Shub-Niggurath porn.

True, but it doesn't strike me as something very interesting visually.

My position currently: slightly more likely to believe in God, slightly less likely to believe in nature.

Does believing in god or nature change the results?

Ugly is a YMMV definitely.

What did you see though, that provoked this response?

Never said it wasn't.

The other day, grandma took me shopping as a birthday treat, so I decided to get myself some nice, prim and proper business-appropriate clothes. Turns out that shirts with proper collars up at the neck (I hate most other patterns) are much rarer than I expected them to be, and over half of such shirts I looked at the designers did weird shit to it like add a belt thing, or random knitting at the underarm, or horizontal ribbing. Whatever happened to just a normal, basic shirt?

Whatever, just a combination of Sturgeon's Law and my high standards making shopping for clothes more difficult for me, I guess.

Why is it that the adjective used to describe words is "verbal" when verbs are only one type of word?

From Oxford American English Dictionary:

ORIGIN late Middle English : from Old French verbe or Latin verbum ‘word, verb.’

From Online Etymology Dictionary:

late 14c., from O.Fr. verbe "part of speech that expresses action or being," from L. verbum "verb," originally "a word," from PIE base *were- (cf. Avestan urvata- "command;" Skt. vrata- "command, vow;" Gk. rhetor "public speaker," rhetra "agreement, covenant," eirein "to speak, say;" Hittite weriga- "call, summon;" Lith. vardas "name;" Goth. waurd, O.E. word "word").

Evidently, the words "word" and "verb" are more closely related than I originally thought.

We got married in 1984 in Ghana and hired a ship on the Volta Lake for the reception. One of our guests was a Ghanaian film director who was working with the BBC on an African documentary. When we invited him he asked if a friend or two could also come along which of course we agreed to. What we didn't know was his guests were the complete BBC film crew, and unbeknown to us one of the camera men was assigned to create our wedding video. The following we were given as a present, the video that the BBC had spent some considerable time during the night ensuring the tape was up to the usual BBC professional standards. It is truly something to cherish and recently we converted it to digital format as we know the tape won't last forever.

Crowning tale of heartwarming for today [awesome]
