Ehhhh. Not that great this time around, though ANARCHYYYYYYY and Cirno were funny.

Considerable excitement among the Adeptus Mechanicus, who believe they have found a pre-Dark Age of Technology STC of a flight-capable machine of Imperator-class or above..

For a while, Games Workshop put out a game set ostensibly in the 40k universe but in the 21st century called "Dark Future". It was specifically scaled to 20mm instead of 28mm so that Hot Wheels and Matchbox sized cars could be modified with sprues of weapons and used in the game.

Man,I'm never around when the good stuff happens.

So today I spent four hours breaking things in half and dumping rocks in a bucket for science. And as proof that the powers of the Warp favor me and allow me to frighten the laws of physics away, twice did the lightest loaded bucket fall in scarcely less time than those that bore twice its burden. The teacher was completely stumped.

No clue.

Noodle incident evidently.

Incidentally, I find the nerd and nerd x-treme tags next to Meiling and Sakuya respectively to be rather comical.

I like Sakuya's in general, really.

... Well that was weird. Following an error in bookmarking a page, the chart became a semi-transparent ghost image dominating my screen (and I wasn't even looking at it or or the page when it happened), and vanished as suddenly as it had come.

Picture this: a restaurant outside of which is a large hill with holes scooped out by construction equipment. Enter two young women in waders and dresses arguing virulently about immigration. One held a watering can, the other a broom, and on its handle were inscribed translations of English phrases. Then a fat dude with a metal detector showed up as I awoke.

So I have found and read the Liber Chaotica, Khorne edition.

I have to admit I'm kind of disappointed.

Well, it's not so much the content as the presentation. There's a lot of red scribbled notes in the margins, trying to go for the Found Document vibe, but they're damn near illegible (and whiny). The idea is that the author (a Sigmarite Imperial scholar) is slowly going insane as he lays out more heretical material, but it just feels forced, in a "ATTENTION READER THIS IS A CREEPYPASTA PLEASE BE AFRAID" way. And at one point it diverges into 40K Khorne by means of the author's vision, but here again it's not believable at all, since he's mixing what an FB character would describe (the Wolf Warriors and the Knights of Grey, Eaters of Worlds) with what a 40K character would know (how exactly does he know that Traitor Titans are mutated, or what a pattern (in the Forge World sense) means?). At one point he gives precise measurements for a stalker tank, helpfully including a human for scale.

According to him the only thing you boys are good for is making arms and armor, and the lunatics who use them.

Thing what I learned today: apparently foughten field is an actual if ancient term for battlefield.

Eminently quotable line of the day:

"amidst the horrid yells, and shrilling screams, and frantic dances, and infamous contumelies, and all the unutterable abominations of the furies of hell in the abused shape of the vilest of women."

WHY?! Just... why?! What is the point!?!

Can we have this? Pleeeeaaaaaaaaase?

I AM HERE, AND TODAY WAS MY (SOMEWHAT HECTIC) 24TH BIRTHDAY.

Sakuya deserves some recon information, I think.

...I might help running this scenario from now on, though.

FREEEEEEDOOOOOMMMMMMM!

The midterms lie defeated! Rejoice with me, that we might set the Warp, ablaze with fear!

Discovery of the day: Metal Archives, or an inexhaustible supply of names for Chaos Space Marine and their (war)bands. And yet not all names are blasphemies to praise the Dark Gods. Some appear to have been named by the oracular daemons of Tzeentch, whose feverish gibberings offer precious insight into the workings of Chaos as easily as they drive dreaming men to screaming insanity:

Alien Deviant Circus, Dead Becomes the Sun, A Very Sad Story, Hallowed Be Thy Goat, A Very Old Ghost Behind the Farm, Carmolest Physicist, A Subtle Understatement (we are talking about a death metal band here), Aggressive Agricultor, Tea Party Under a Death Drone Glance.

The absolute topper, however, goes by the business card-friendly "AAAAARGH! Bloody 2-Handed Chainaxe Blow". I refuse to believe this band introduces itself any way save for two burly members of event security to appear onstage, each holding high the sacred weapon of the Blood God, and beginning a savage duel that ends only when one brings his weapon crashing down in the stated fashion upon the other's skull.

The kicker? Every band I have mentioned up to now is French.

And before you ask, yes, I already checked to see if anyone had sought out the patronage of mighty Khorne by taking his name. Someone did, in Pakistan of all places.

A most auspicious day! Got to leave two hours early, leading me to see Deadpool killing zombified American presidents, acquire the long-awaited latest De Cape Et De Crocs, and finding a recently-translated comic I had last encountered more than seven years ago.

Three Norscans! Is øjar a word you recognize?

No, never heard it before. But Øiar is an old Norwegian name, apparently.

Full line is "Øjar trel!", and there's also "Ojør va Russ! Leman Russ! Fenrys Hjølda!". Also, dudes by the names of Hunnar, Skold Greypelt, and Trygvas (not the Iron Priest, sadly).

List of Fenris words found (that may accidentally include grunts and inarticulate yells): sklja odda, tra, vakh meh, stø, ume lindvar jør, fjavø, jahjøld, and meytval. I half expect them to be made up (hjølda apparently means resist/endure/forever), especially since even the readable parts had spelling mistakes.

I'm guessing poor little ø doesn't see a lot of use even on the hellish presses of the Black Library, and they were determined to get their money's worth out of it.
