The Inquisitor I mostly played during that scene didn't even have a name - she was just a reasonable conservative, because they can't all be frothing bigots. I have no interest in reviving her. Hevold, on the other hand, might reappear, but he was never really intended as a central character - more a contact for setting certain things rolling.

Darius isn't a gene purist or anything like that, by the way - he'd probably employ a mutant if they were suitably skilled, dependable and devout (and the mutants on some worlds are almost as devout as you get simply because of their misfortune). He'll just drop the hammer on anything even vaguely heretical, and Gensokyo //is// heretical. Thanks to some fancy diplomatic footwork Arcturus and Co. have managed to sweep this matter under the rug, but on a dogmatic level the planet should still be on track for exterminatus. His zealous hatred is, at the very least, logically self-consistent, at least provided Isaac isn't anywhere in the picture. He's very good at lying to himself about his children, as we all know.

Speaking of his children, does anyone remember if I've ever presented any information about any other members of the Bickerstaff family? Because I feel like coming up with something for one or two of Isaac's siblings.

I thought he was an only child, that should tell you something.

It just seemed to fit with the character, as if he wouldn't be so angry if he had a few backup heirs.

Siblings? That would complicate matters.

As far as I knew Isaac had no siblings.

Also Lem, is that avatar you have Saber Alter wearing a Kamui?

It is indeed Saber Alter. smile As to what she's wearing, I'm not sure, as I did not make this avatar.

I've been back for almost a month, and the professors are already hard at work suffocating us with hard work. Studying Criminal Law is comparable to being force-fed rice porridge. The porridge in itself quite nice, but the tempo and amount is enough to make you collapse.

High school is manageable, for the most part. Maths is pretty challenging though, as is Chemistry. It remains to be seen if this is merely an initial hurdle.

^ Easier... It can, yes. Depends on your calculator.

Highlights of the day: a guy who looks even more like a caveman than I do, a teacher who looks disturbingly like an old and embittered Linkara, a student with one hand, and an English teacher who told us at length of the evil that is the English language.

He was something of a special case, says he was raised in England (dude's name is Florent, imagine the childhood he must've had), then got a degree in chemistry, which was apparently a mistake since he then got a job teaching English (*cough* *uncomfortable laugh* *cough*). Although he might've been one of those theManIsStickingItToTheMan types, since he basically showed us that the entire world speaks English, so we might as well get to it (then again, he also claims he'll give a pass grade just for showing up).

Gendo beardless and Gendo smiling are equally brain-hurting, but both are inconceivable.

If his relationship with his other kids is anything like what I think it is, I already have a new nickname for him.

Thing wut I lurned today: The process of obtaining aluminium from ore. While quite interesting in its own right, what with featuring fire, robots and deadly gas, it is a minor aspect I will speak of: the fact that before it turned out it was more efficient to build the factory next to the foundry, there were trucks ferrying liquid metal on the roads of France. Yes, liquid, for aluminium melts at 660 degrees, and the trucks kept it at a nice and warm 700.

Can you imagine that? One wrong turn, one single error and you unleash a tidal wave of molten metal upon yourself and the road, turning it into a vast mirror and testament to your death that can be seen from the air.

Now obviously, some details were missing from the lecture, like the trucks being specially modified to house multiple speakers to continuously blast (aha) heavy metal, or welding the cabs shut should the drivers' courage fail them, or that speed falling below three digits resulting in their being branded coward and less than a dog, or spending the previous night in wild dances to call upon them the attention of the warrior gods of their fathers, but of course such things go without saying. Really, if failing during such a venture doesn't result in your leaving shiny footprints in great Odin's halls, what would be the point of doing it in the first place?

So apparently Scotland is set to achieve independance in a way that sadly does not involve decapitations, hordes, facepaint or binary death/freedom choices. No doubt this means that until then, in pubs, houses of Parliament and other disreputable establishments where shady individuals gather to further hasten the decline of society, gangs of large violent men will go around declaring others tae be no' a true Scotsman.

Right, I have now been fortunate enough to have acquired the Dark Eldar trilogy, by Andy Chambers. ...since it's Dark Eldar, I doubt any of you will be surprised when I say that the main character is plotting something.

Indeed, archon Yllithian desires to overthrow Vect, whom he appears to have a particular loathing for. Yllithian is archon of the White Flames kabal, and can trace his lineage to back before the Fall, considering himself the best of the Eldar race, with the Eldar race above everyone else of course.

Oh, and a ranger named Sindiel is the one I suspect is the titular renegade of the first book.

And I can't tell you much more than that, since I haven't read more than the first 60 pages.

And yet I remember a game in the forum that involved stringing together multiple avatars. Must have been established since then.

Yeah, the rule was put in exactly because of such games (and the Avatars-topic), because they were sapping the bandwidth.
