They're souls made from split-off fragments of Father's own soul, mixed in with some of the souls from Xerxes, and given bodies through either alchemy or implanting into a human.
Of course, whether Wrath's singular soul is one of the ones Father gave him is unknown.
I have a message from another time...Also, who's your least favorite homunculus and why? My least favorite is likely Lust or Sloth, we barely knew either of them.
This shall be my true, Start of DarknessProbably Sloth. He was the least characterized of them all.
I have a message from another time...Also Sloth. Lust at least had style. Was never a huge fan of Gluttony, either.
I like all of the others, though. If I had to pick a favorite, I guess I'd have to go with Greed, but I really like Envy too.
Oh God! Natural light!Sloth's definitely my least favorite too. While I like the "too lazy to ignore orders" twist on normal pop-culture sloth, it wasn't enough to bring him higher on my list. Gluttony would probably be next; he was fun to watch, just not as much fun as the others. Envy sucks, of course, but he fits firmly into Love to Hate, and he at least had an important role in the plot related to his own character.
I know Lust didn't get a lot of characterization either, but like others said, she had style. Her dub voice, especially, was just dripping with "I am going to torture you to death and you are going to LOVE it."

Am I the only one who found the Roy/Lust fight funnier after finding out the voice actors were dating?
Least favorite: Lust I guess. Favorite: Sloth or Pride.
Not dating, married.
They are married now, but not when they recorded their lines for Brotherhood.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyWhy did Kimblee kill his troops during the Ishbalan War? Like, I was reading the manga, and, during the assault on Scar's home village, some soldiers runs to catch up to him and he randomly grabs the man and kills him, why?
This shall be my true, Start of DarknessHe used him as a human shield to block an incoming blast, basically.
"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018Oh, okay, I thought he just grabbed the dude and blew him up.
This shall be my true, Start of DarknessI heard somewhere the author kind of regrets not giving Lust more time in the story.
Mileena MadnessI feel the same way, really. She went out a lot earlier than the other Homunculi.
I'm still watching the show with my mom. She really doesn't like Kimblee or the Homunculi, especially Pride. That said, she actually feels sorry for Sloth - she thinks he's too stupid to know any better.
Oh God! Natural light! It's hard to tell with him. Maybe he's as stupid as Gluttony, but more likely he's just too lazy to ask questions. This is the same guy who dug a country-sized tunnel because he couldn't be bothered to come up with a reason not to.
Yeah, Sloth isn't stupid, he's probably just as smart as his other siblings, he's just too lazy to bother to go against what they want.
This shall be my true, Start of DarknessWhether Sloth's lazy or stupid, I still feel bad for him, because neither thing is within his control. In fact none of the homonculi can really help what they are.
Sloth was definitely my least favourite but I think that's pretty much entirely because of how little we saw of him. His character is pretty basic by design but it still would have been nice to see just a bit more of his personality beyond "I can't be bothered arguing so I'll just dig a hole I guess."
As for the stupid/lazy debate, I don't think he's stupid at all, in fact I like to think that he's just painfully aware of the living hell Father would put him through if he said no.
"Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost."I was just watching Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, and found it interesting that, upon killing himself Envy says some spiteful words, as expected, but internally wishes Edward farewell. Considering the kind of OOC occurrence of the scene, do you think Envy admitted that he viewed Edward as a friend, or what?
This shall be my true, Start of DarknessIs it bad that the homunculus I identify most with is Envy?
This shall be my true, Start of DarknessNah.
I wish she had done more with Sloth.
Envy's probably the most layered character among them. The only real competition is Greed. Like, Sloth, Gluttony and Lust are pretty one-dimensional, while Pride and Wrath... were more physically threats than intellectual ones, let's say.
Wrath had layers, he just spelled them out for us so there wasn't as much to speculate about. Even Evil Has Loved Ones was his shtick.
The main point of debate regarding Wrath has more to do with different readings of his sin and whether or not he fulfills them. If you regard Wrath as anger or mindless rage, he's a poor fit, but if you define Wrath as cruelty, he's perfect.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Does anyone know the name of the track that plays in the final episode when Miles is asking Scar to help him rebuild Ishval? It plays over a few other scenes, but that's the one I remember it from.

Oh God! Natural light!
Uh....well apart from Bradley, I guess you could call them clones? Maybe? They are pieces of him. His essence. Like Naraku's incarnations if you watched Inuyasha. They are all "him" and yet they aren't him. Greed is the embodiment of Father's Greed and thus he is a copy of that aspect of Father.
