Just got my hardcover copy of the first book. It's honestly almost worth it just for the commentary, which wavers between insight into how the comic came to be, and shitposting. Exactly what I'd expect from Hussie, in other words. The book itself is really nice quality, too.
Reaction Image RepositoryI like the parental advisory.
Yeah, that was a nice touch. I just hope that they sell well enough that they'll be able to get through the whole thing, because that's going to take a lot of books.
Reaction Image RepositoryI'd laugh if they get all the way to Act 6 Intermission whatever only for the annotations to stop because Hussie gets killed by Lord English.
This song needs more love. And then start the Caliborn annotations?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersEven better: Hussie says, "Look, I'm not going to stop doing these comments just because of a plot event. Get a life".

Like how Lord English infected the site during his arrival. Caliborn affects the commentary. Genius.
So we have:
Book 1: Act 1 +2 Book 2: Act 3 + Intermission
And presumably
Book 3: Act 4 Book 4: Act 5 Part 1 Book 5: Act 5 Part 2
I wonder how Act 6 will be told. Each act and accompanying intermission in 1 book? Or 2 acts and an intermission per book?
Probably depends on the length of each section. Especially since some of those walkarounds and animations are going to take up a ton of space in the books.
Reaction Image RepositoryBooks-A-Million's preorder information has Book 3, which is listed as having Act 4. Maybe not all of Act 4, I guess, but 472 pages seems like enough to round it out.
Then I imagine Act 5 Act 1 and Act 5 Act 2 being two books makes the most sense, putting us at five books, like Psyche said.
Act 6, though, I figure will be at least six books. Not dividing cleanly into a pattern of # Act-Acts plus accompanying Intermissions over the whole course, especially since that would get thrown out of wack by Act 6 Act 6 Act [#], plus wasn't Act 6 Act 5(?) split into an Act 1 and Act 2 that were just, shown at the same time? With the window gimmick.
I wonder if anybody has a decent estimate, although considering the layout we couldn't really be sure.

Mostly does better things now. Key word mostly. Writes things, but you'll never find them. Or you can ask.The main hurdle in estimating is that the animations and interactive sections are hard to judge. It depends on how screencap-heavy he gets.
Reaction Image RepositoryI imagine they'll also have to take specific end points into account. Some of the end of acts/intermissions don't work as good stopping points as well as others.
This song needs more love. There's no way Act 5 Act 2 is all going to fit into one book.
We're gonna get Act 5 Act 2 Red and Act 5 Act 2 Blue
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority.Friendsim Volume 2 just dropped. Today on the Moirail Menu: The moisturewave death-defier and the adorable murderous painter.

Man, that commentary about relevance and legacy was interesting to read. Funny but sobering. Like Hussie at his best. I like how he referenced the PBS video on him and whether or not that video actually has weight with what Homestuck is.
