Looks batshit insane, especially in combination with the rest of the site.
Currently taking a break from the site. See my user page for more information. That banner there is really not endearing me.
[1] This facsimile operated in part by synAC.I read the page on the other thread. Sounded sane but strong claims and "cites please or it didn't happen".
Go to the main page: batshit crazy Godwinning banner. So I click on the European Union page.
I expected
- Conspiracy theory about EU being set up by Illuminati to help create One World Order.
I Got
- A fairly reasonably written page that seemed to be written with a view on informing as yet unaware citizens of the EU-USA interactions. Still no cites though.
Many of the arguments on that website are fairly compelling, but the consensus so far seems to be that it gives off the crazy conspiracy theorist vibe. This a problem I have with many social commentators. They may have solid claims afoot, but they advertise themselves in such an anti-establishment "I know the secret truth" persona that they end appearing as caricatures of more rational political theorists.
I have to admit my eyes rolled in their sockets the moment I laid them on the “FDR & Pearl Harbor” section, but upon reading it, I too was surprised to find a reasonable and well written analysis of the brinkmanship leading up WWII and a gentle debunking of the conspiracy theory I expected.
Why, what were you expecting to find, if I may ask?
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.He was expecting the standard "FDR had advance knowledge" conspiracy theory.
I think I might have misjudged this site. I had a bit of a knee-jerk reaction to the inflammatory banner and headlines.

Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.Hell even the name threw me for a bit. I'd appreciate a bit more citations (as mentioned) but it didn't seem to bad.

Fight smart, not fair.I hate it when the conspiracy theorists latch themselves onto good history; it makes it harder for the average person to tell the difference. Forget this site. Read A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn and War Is A Racket by General Smedley Darlington Butler instead
Share it so that people can get into this conversation, 'cause we're not the only ones who think like this.It set off all my alarm bells at first, but reading through some of the articles I can't see any particular conspiracy theories. Overall there's a fair amount of stuff I've run across before, but some pretty interesting links that flesh it out, the writing style is definitely a tad on the sensational side though.
Zinn is hardly a good historian.

I found this tonight. Fascinating material. Disturbing, even.
Here.
Anyone else come across it? It's a lot to take in, I'll probably have to spend quite a bit of time digesting it.
