I don't know why this thread is always a week behind.

Because The Escapist's website publishes the reviews a week ahead of their release on You Tube, but I'd dare to say that most of us watch them on the latter platform.

Oh, I see, I always watch them on The Escapist.

I used to frequent that site like a decade ago. Used to be a haven of quality content like Extra Credits and Jimquisition.

As far as I'm aware, the only two people left on the Escapist's payroll are Yahtzee and Jon Markley (their main Twitch guy) - and I think only Yahtzee is an employee with a fixed salary.

Details on the Extra Credits thread, but they've been hit by two main allegations - that one of their main staff members (basically the guy who runs it) is a massive douchenozzle and that their Extra History videos are seriously flawed in terms of historical accuracy.

Jeez, you can almost hear the water lapping at the edges of the ragged hole in the side of that giant boat full of money.

Defy Media (the people behind the Escapist) are infamous for not paying people on time - so the first time this happens to Yahtzee might be when he'll to board a lifeboat.

They can't be so idiotic as to think that they'll remain in business if they stiff their last productive content creator. Okay, sure, they can be that idiotic, but it would be kind of sad.

Sadly, some people really seem to think that they can get away with such things indefinitely.

Heck, that's why Extra Credits and other people left in the first place. The Escapist has been hemorrhaging people for years until they simply fired everyone except two people.

Just check their website - it's a barren wasteland only inhabited by Yahtzee. I assume they fired everyone else because having the website be Zero Punctuation-only was more profitable than having to pay additional people for writing articles.

Speaking of burns, jeez, that jab at games journalists in the Agony review is some Dresden shit.

What were they? I've forgotten already.

P.S. I checked out the front page of Escapist website (I usually go straight to ZP) out of curiosity, and man is it hilariously empty. Most of the days on their calendar are blank. I never actually paid attention to the non-ZP features, but I do remember that they used to at least have them.

I suppose Yahtzee couldn't be bothered to look up Vampyr, or he would have seen that that was the title of a German vampire movie. And vampyr was definitely an acceptable term for the creature at one time.

Yeah, sometimes he really appears to not have done the basic research.

There was also a German opera called "Der Vampyr", so this title is definitely in some good company.

Then it would have been an appropriate title had the game been set in Germany. But it wasn't.
