Clannad was actually my first VN I think. Other than Pheonix Wright which kinda, kinda doesn't count. I didn't get to finishing it though until after FSN.

I guess, that's probably a problem with the whole idea of Plot With Porn .
For most people, characters of a mainstream story appearing in a pornographic scene is just OOC, no matter what. If the same scenes would be only implied, it would be believable that they happened, especially the second one in Fate, but most people don't actually want to SEE likeable, deep, realistic human characters having a threesome, talking dirty, or getting a faceful.
Kinda similar to when people complain that Rule 34 "ruined their childhood". These scenes just hurt the illusion.
BTW, will there be any similar scenes in the other two routes? And with which characters?
My theory turned out to be right. I'm at the second route, and the fact that this time at least they don't act like porn stars, made it A LOT less weird.
Which work should I try from Key first? I watched the CLANNAD anime a few weeks ago, ad loved it, but wouldn't the same story be boring for a second time?

^^ Clannad VN isn't exactly like the anime. You get a lot of stuff that's different. Give it a shot, but I must warn you; it's longer than Fate Stay Night.

^^^Saber is, number one, just a teenager; number two, a teenager that lived as the opposite sex and number three she lived in the middle ages. Not knowing that the pOnOs goes into the vagOOO is perfectly in-character. But I do agree the ero scene in UBW rules because of how awkward both parties are.

I liked Chaos Head for pretty much the same reason I like Fate Stay Night, which is that being inside the head of a crazy guy is pretty interesting. Neither of them are at all relateable in a normal sense but all their actions make sense within their own contexts.
Saya No Uta is kind like that too.

She does have a son. Apparently, Merlin gave her a temporary penis at some point and she impregnated her wife. Also, she's only physically a teenage girl, she's lived a lot longer than that. Pulling the sword from the stone stopped her aging.
Honestly I don't even remember the scenes in question because I kind of skimmed over them on future playthroughs, so I can't say for sure how accurate to the backstory they are, but there is a reason for her not to be completely naive.
