Given how badly Ruckus has relapsed, it's slightly better.

Interestingly Ruckus has felt bipolar this season. Really, this entire season has, with the Ed Jr focused plots being the really bad ones for the most part (though i wasn't an especial fan of the "Kardashian" episode, having nothing to do with that subplot). "Good Times" and "Freedomland" were some of the very worst of this show so far, however, and portray Ruckus as a straight-up villain, which he has never been otherwise, however misguided he can get. Other shows go so light on the "financial misfortune" aspect as if it weren't even present.

This season just has issues.

Ruckus has never been a straight up villain? I have doubt about that statement...

Just saw the Siri episode. I'm conflicted.

I was ready to hate it because:

  • Robert is still fucking stupid.
  • Ruckus is pretty damn annoying.
  • The commentary about phones was simplistic and dated as this season generally is.
  • It felt like a rehash of Attack of the Killer Kung-Fu Wolf Bitch.

But at the same time:

  • It really took off when things got weird.
  • Ruckus' wedding speech was uncomfortably hilarious.
  • After leaving the Apple Store the first time, much less of the episode was the direct fault of Robert being a fucking moron than I've grown used to this season.
  • It actually got really funny in parts. I laughed or chuckled in several scenes, which I don't think I've done a single time this season, but possibly in "Freedom Ride Or Die" and "Pretty Boy Flizzy".

I'm confused, overall. The season still sucks, but the second half of this episode was a rare bright spot.

On to Stinkmeaner.

A previous troper mention that Season 4 will have 20 episodes, but some sources are saying tomorrow episode is the finale. Granted said source is from Wikipedia, so don't quote me on that.

[up][up][up]I remember him being antagonistic before, but that's it.

Exactly, he has been an antagonist, but not really evil.

Well, there was that time he tried to have Huey and Riley run over by a truck.

IMHO,the main problem with Ruckus is that he's flanderized, obvious and boring this season. Watch The Passion of Reverend Ruckus and Freedomland back to back. He's an evil jerk both times, but he's an interesting antagonist the first time and boring the second.

Don't forget the time he tried to send the Freeman & Jazmine to jail in the theater episode. And the time he did nothing to help Riley when he was getting strangled by lamilton.

Seems rather villainy to me.

I don't remember everything from the second example, but didn't they sneak into that movie?

[down]I don't think we're saying he doesn't have those traits.

Well, yeah. But there also a time he already bring a rope to a blind man that was more than likely innocent to be convicted.

Bottom line, to say Ruckus doesn't have any villainy quality doesn't seem right, he's more of an antagonist than an outright villain but he's villain quality has shown up on occasion.

To be fair, being less well characterized than in the first season isn't just a fourth season problem. Pretty much everybody had better characterization in the first season than most of the rest of the series, not just this last set of episodes. Especially Ruckus.

That's fair, although I think it's gotten worse this season.

Hmmm. I went back and checked, and I think except for The Red Ball, all the episodes I remember being really impressed by were Season 1. You're probably right.

Stinkmeaner episode:

  • Wow, they're being straight up with the Recycled Script nature of this season.
  • Stinkmeaner sounds different.
  • Alright, with the exception of the inexplicable stuff, this episode was a marked step up.

Watched last night's episode online just now. Lol @ Riley's bigotry. Reminds me of my big-mouthed cousin from L.A. Lol nice saying by Robert: "If it looks gay turn the other way" (Which I do).

Wasn't that big on last night's episode. It just seemed like they were taking the easy way and expecting it to be funny but it just came off as offensive to me. The writing just wasn't clever enough to pull it off.

Aye, the moments with the mentally-challenged kids really made me cringe. Some of it was still good, though. Slowlove made me laugh.

Adult Swim seems to say this is the end on their website, though, which would be a horrific shame. The season resolves nothing?
