Yu-Gi-Oh GX

So i was going to put this in the Unpopular opnion thread but I had so much to say I figured I'd just start a new topic to discuss the anime.

I like Yu-Gi-Oh GX.

I started it last year and lost interest near the end of the second season but through no fault of the show. I just have a really bad attention span and GX is just one of many shows I've abandoned when something else came a long.

It's ture that it is not as good as the original Duel Monsters anime but it's still enjoyable. To anyone here who's een Zoids, I think of GX as New Century Zero while the original is Chaotic Century/Guardian Force. Sure YGO and CC have far more epic plots with better characters but GX/NCZ are just a lot of fun and have passable stories themselves.

Plus Sartorius was a villain worthy of the original Yu-Gi-Oh.

Oh and to just single out the dub for a second...

The opening is great for the Narm Charm.

And the voice-acting isn't that bad either. I didn't hear any great hamminess like in the first 4Kids Yu-Gi-Oh but Zane came close with his Christian Bale Batman voice when he turned evil. Or just went insane. One or the other.

Best voice on the show belonged to the late Ms. Blaustein as Sartorius though.

And my final bit of proof for how weird yet awesome GX is, Kaiba sent cards into space so that, if there were aliens, they could learn how to duel.

At least that's what they said in the dub. But either way, that just further proves Seto Kaiba is the most batshit insane guy in the whole series.

Oh and I plan to finish Season 2 and 3 sometime soon. That's part of why I made this.

It was OK when it wasn't trying to be "the Jaden/Judai show", because the side characters were always more fun/interesting.

I just didn't like any of the characters, the plot would've been interesting but kept getting sidetracked (seriously the mysterious dorm where kids kept disappearing... I've read somewhere that this plot point was never resolved), and the card duels were about as boring as Yu-Gi-Oh the Movie.

But you have to admit, Judai has badass looking armor as the Stupremem King.

Meh, Yu Gi Oh5ds is the better series over the other 2.
