I don't know who I imagine. Mostly I don't really imagine distinct faces or appearances when reading.

Sometimes I put the faces of different fictional characters in there, depending on how I'm feeling. For example,

House Lannister

Vegeta as Tywin

Trunks as Jaime

Bra as Cersei

.....Krillin as Tyrion.

Nappa as The Mountain

Piccolo as The Hound

Pan as Arya

18 as Dany

Ginyu as Selmy.

Roshi as Maester Pycelle.

I could go on.

Vegeta as Tywin?

Nah.

Vegeta is Stannis. Stannis has an inferiority complex over Robert just like Vegeta has one over Kakarot.

Hrm. Clearly, I was keeping things to linearly related.

Says the man who has Nappa and Piccolo as brothers.

To me Ned will always be Liam Neeson.

I don't usually see the faces of actor's when I read, but I often hear the dialogue in the voice of a character. I admit that I usually hear Tywin's dialogue in David Kaye's Megatron voice.

@940131 Personalities, and due to making Gero the Mad King, that kinda limits my options while staying related in some small way.

Something I thought very interesting that someone posted on the ASOIAF Reddit.

I'm a big fan of historical parallels in the series, and this person noted how the Oberyn/Gregor duel might be inspired by the Judicial Duel (i.e. Trial by Combat) between Jean de Carrouges and Jacques Le Gris.

It's kind of funny that it's like an inversion, moral and otherwise of Martin's take.

Carrouges accused Le Gris of raping his wife and the King allowed the two to fight a Judicial Duel. Carrouges was small but quick tempered and Le Gris was a lot bigger and a well known knight.

Up to this point, Carrouges is clearly the Obeyrn and Le Gris the Gregor, but amusingly, Le Gris lost the same way Oberyn did in the books/series. He stabbed Carrouges in the thigh and had him on the ground, but instead of killing him when he had the chance, he started to gawk- at which point, Carrouges tackled him and smashed open his faceplate and stabbed him to death.

So who'd Guru and Popo be?

Popo would be Varys.

Guru....hrm....The Septon who got ripped up in the streets.

Gendry and Shireen for me.

One thing the show did right is give Shireen a more important role.

Although I wish they had let Gendry stay with BWB. Now we most definitely won't get Ser Gendry of the Hollow Hill.

Oh well I hope they introduce Mya Stone so I can start shipping her with Sansa.

Shireen definitely. Something about a lonely, scarred princess who stays cheerful. She's endearing. And half the reason I want Stannis to win if I'm honest.

I'd also like to see more of Ser Duck. Not entirely sure why. Maybe because he's so average that he serves as a good contrast for the huge cast of ridiculously competent people.

I like Ser Duck too though.Mostly because he's a lot like Duncan the Tall in that he was a peasant that became a knight and then a Kingsguard and has a King Aegon squiring for him. Also I dig this picture of him.◊

Everyone knows the perfect ending would be Stannis dying in the most badass way possible slaying Roose with his right hand and Ramsay with his left (and headbutting Walder Frey's head in), Shireen ascending the throne and married to either Jon Snow or Rickon with Davos as Hand and Daenerys ruling as the Empress of Western Essos.

Really? I feel like the only ridiculously competent people are Littlefinger, Tyrion, Varys, Robb (when it comes to the battlefield) and Daenerys. (Yes, Daenerys fucks up a lot but she's like 13-16 and has had no real schooling and got raised by fucking Viserys).

Also I don't know if anyone pointed it out here, but apparently Jinglebell was like fifth in line in the Frey succession. What Could Have Been.

Minor characters I'd like to see more of? Tyrion's clansmen.

Believe me even if Aegon did get it, he would've been murdered.

I pretty much expect Black Walder to kill Edwyn Frey though.

There's a theory that Timett is actually the son of one of Jon Arryn's nieces and the true heir to the Vale.

I'm pretty sure Walder Frey has his wife ride him as he has gout.

I'd like to see Moqorro and Benerro interact with Melisandre and Jon. I'm curious what their reaction would be to some of the stuff that's going on in Westeros.

Well I assume Moquorro is coming back to Westeros with Daenerys (along with Marwyn) so you may get half that wish.

I'd like to see Jon Con and Jon Snow in a room together though just to see if Jon Con sees any of Rhaegar in him.

Maybe Jon has his high cheekbones or his Roman nose aside from the melancholy. I mean Jon must've inherited some physical traits from Rhaegar.

It's a dangerous tightrope to walk on. 'Cause if Jon did look Targ, that'd kind of give away his parentage. So he has to look the Starkiest Stark to ever Stark, so you think he's Ned's.

Timmett would be a bastard though, and the Valemen hate the Mountain Clans.

One of my favorite side characters is Edmure (if he counts). He's a true knight.

As they rode out into the bustle of Riverrun’s upper bailey, a naked toddler ran in front of the horses. Catelyn jerked her reins hard to avoid him, glancing about in dismay. Hundreds of smallfolk had been admitted to the castle, and allowed to erect crude shelters against the walls. Their children were everywhere underfoot, and the yard teemed with their cows, sheep, and chickens. “Who are all these folk?”

“My people,” Edmure answered. “They were afraid.”

Only my sweet brother would crowd all these useless mouths into a castle that might soon be under siege. Catelyn knew that Edmure had a soft heart; sometimes she thought his head was even softer. She loved him for it, yet still…
