Personally, I judge the E-N-G axis by how concerned they are by other's welfare. I'll use Spoony's example of Mercenaries here to show my thoughts;

  • Good Characters are actively motivated by the welfare of others. A Good Mercenary is going to be more of a Knight Errant, maybe leaning A Team; They seek out good causes where people need help and ask for what the people can afford so that they can keep fed and continue doing good.
  • Neutral Characters aren't actively motivated by the welfare of others but will draw the line at causing a lot of harm; They'll sign on for the money and might do some ambiguous things or fight for some ambiguous causes but they'll stop short of signing onto Lich Lord Skeletor's army and wiping out the littlest Hobbits.
  • Evil Characters, I'd characterize most by apathy in favour of gain. I don't think it's good characterization to have people actively seeking to do evil, but rather people who are willing to wipe out Hobbits and Gnomes, because hey, if they don't, someone else will and then that person will get all of their money. Theoretically, there's nothing stopping them from working for a Good guy (unlike Good and to a lesser extent Neutral Charactrs) but they're hindered by their own tendancy for short term gain (though it's possible to write an Evil character who plays the long game, just something I've rarely seen in a PC) or the Good guys looking at their track record...

With that divsion, Neutral Characters tend to work pretty well but generally, you need to write in some character based motive (usually money but it's also fun to work in their backstory or something else) to make them go out adventuring where Good characters will usually do it just to stop evil (though Money rarely hurts in their case either).

[up][up][up] The nation in question is a religious nation that worships the moon. Because the rulers, aristocracy, and nobles are lycanthropes, and most of the population are skinwalkers. If you are not one of those, you are at best a second class citizen. The character's father and brother were executed (which, in the Principality of the Moon for humans means being The Most Dangerous Game) for unwittingly selling weapons to rebels. And their religion? A corrupted version of worshiping basically the Anti-Christ of the world. I'd say they are a very dark Neutral; official alignment from the GM holds that the country's alignment is LN.

I loved it. There was an overlooked chance for a The Room reference when that one guy kept repeating that Mark is his best friend in the world, but maybe it would have been redundant with the earlier "o hi Mark" soundclip.

speaking of wrestlemania, i was on atopthefourthwall's official site and stumbled upon spoony's crossover with linkara where the two reviewed the Warrior comic.

spoony's warrior impression makes me laugh every single time without fail.

Pretty much like that for anything he doesn't edit. Any Vlog where he reviews a film he's just seen in theater, it can be 45 min before he even brings up the movie as he rambles on about the theater they were in, people in the crowd, the trailer, or other stuff.

Spoony didn't really take that long in latest Counter Monkey about that potion .-. He had even the rule page bookmarked this time

...Hmm, I wonder if there is anyone willing to try out original AD&D? xD It kinda sounds like roguelike sometimes

Ooh, another new Counter Monkey episode :D Awesome, he has been doing them a lot lately

This time it seems to be about Chaotic Neutral Edit: Ah, seems to be about stupidity of old edition's alignment system's definition of it/neutralness

......Okay, turns out it wasn't just about that, name of episode is literal [lol]

I used to really like Counter Monkey, when it was actually Noah telling funny stories from his campaigns and anecdotes around his D&D groups. Later on, it mostly just became him rambling about the rules and logistics of the games, which I find really, really boring and not worth my time.

What about Apocalypse Stone part 1 video? Its not exactly about Spoony's own story, but he is detailing how insane the module is so I'd say that counts xD And its been entertaining so far

[up][up] 345 people do according to his current stream :-P

Wow I just noticed that the last non-vlog, non-wrestlewrestle, non-livestream, non-Counter Monkey video spoony released was in February. Not that he's not doing anything (The vlog content and all that has been steady) and he's done a film shoot apparently last weekend. But it's been a while!

EDIT: Clearly I'm not the only one to have noticed, his Patreon has taken a dive and is now (well) back below the threshold to him doing a movie.

Huh, Apocalypse stone part 2

Reminds me of game last week where innkeepers were triplet cannibal gnomes and had feed us dwarf flesh before trying to murder us in order to eat us at night tongue Would probably be spoiler to say what adventure/module that is

Anyway, didn't know Spoony does livestreams. What stuff has he done and where?
