"Fun consequences..." James muttered, "I'm sorry, but I'm not willing to tell you until you tell me what you mean by fun consequences..."

The boy shrugged "I've always thought of it as amusing seeing various people doing whatever the target of their worship seems to desire. Add in to that it seems to be a drow that is the worshipped one, who knows what may come out from it."

Mal was taken slightly off by the efficiency of the spell. She stared at the worshippers, shrugging her shoulders... And even Drek. Now that was creepy.

"uh..let's see... The great Mal commands all of you -except you, Drek- to ignore the great Mal for the time being and go on with your lives!"

She paused.

"As for you, Drek... come hither." She added, before hitting him a noogie to wake him up from the spell. She waited a few seconds to undo the spell, as she put her hood back over her head again.

Everyone who'd been affected by the spell seemed stunned. Drek said: "Huh? What was that?"

"You are a disturbing kid" James said in response.

"I know." Kalan shrugged and smirked "I'm Kalan by the way. Nice to meet you mister."

"James Tsif" the werewolf said plainly. He was starting to question why he was talking Kalan, with what the boy said before.

Kalan nodded as he imprinted the name in his memory "You do not happen to be an adventurer do you mister? And I presume that the other ones that stands out, at least the blue robed guy is your comanions?"

Drek said to Mal: "What just happened? The last thing I remember, those peasants were trying to kill you, you were casting a spell... and then... everything got hazy. Now the whole square looks dazed, and I'm on my knees. What did you do?"

Meanwhile, the helmet Sam was carrying powered down and it's grip on Sam's mind fell away. She could think clearly now, and she remembered everything that had happened.

And just in time because, even when Sam was incredibly stubborn, she was still just a hunter girl from the woods... and the mental attack had left her weak and just on the edge of surrendering.

The young huntress let out a breath of relief as the pressure on her mind and heart relaxed, finally allowing her to think clearly. Holding the helmet at arms length she said "E-Everyone... this thing... it almost made me put it on"

The spell...the effects of the spell made Aaron angry...it brainwashed so many people...but she didn't know what she was doing...still if she does do something like that again...

The thoughts about the spell were soon overriden however, when Sam talked about the helmet. Hearing what it could do, Aaron snatched it out of Sam's hands without thinking. "Don't worry...I'm not going to let it control you..."

Meanwhile, James was continuing the conversation with Katan. "You know...I don't have to reveal that information to you..."

"Come on, what harm can it do?!" Kalan asked with a small mischievous smile as he looked up to James

"Your smile says it will do some harm" James rebutted.

"I'm just a young kid! What harm could I do?" Kalan askes with his mischevious smirk transforming into a little more innocent smile

Aaron, who was now holding the helmet, could hear it whispering to him... but the whispers were so faint that he couldn't make out what it was saying. However, the whispering quickly faded away and a few seconds later they were gone. When he looked at the helmet, he could see it's aura: It was black, and there were swirling tendrils of blackness spiraling off from it. However, the helmet's black aura was slowly withdrawing into the center of the helmet, as if the thing was dying, or perhaps it's magic was powering down. When Aaron looked up, he could see the life-force of the whole square... like he had before in that psychic illusion the Helmet had projected on the party. This time, though... Arron was somehow sure that what he was seeing was not an illusion. He didn't know why, but he was sure never the less.

Meanwhile, Zelph was rushing over to Sam, saying: "Are you alright, dear? Did that thing hurt you?"

Drek was still waiting for Mal to respond.

"HHHNNNGGGG!!" Edvin snapped back to life, clutching his chest. "Sorry. Something happened there. Sorry. Anyway, we should probably stick the helmet issue on the backburner for now and head to our actual objective; we've had enough delays."

Feeling everyone nearby again...he dropped the helmet...

This again...why am I feeling everyone?

Spotting the helmet on the ground, he picked it back up and saw it's weakening darkness again.

Putting his eyes on the party, he noticed a boy pestering James. Going up to him, he asked "Hey James, who is this?"

Drek responded to Edvin, saying: "Yes. Let's get that canvas for Aaron and then get going to fight Lloth."

Eruantian said: "You know what? Since that helmet is so dangerous, I'm not gonna wait to have the dragons destroy it. I'm gonna get rid of it right now. I'll use my ring to fly it to an active volcano and drop it inside. But first, I'll put it in a wooden box so I'm not touching it while I do that." Eruantian said to his ring: "Ring, make me a plain wooden box, six-sided, with a lid that can be nailed shut. Make it large enough to completely enclose a large helmet." The ring buzzed and hummed and glowed bright orange, and then materialized a large wooden box one the ground in front of Eruantian. It was about three square on each side. Eruntian said: "Ok, that's a little too large, but it will do. Arron, drop the helmet inside the box and I'll go dispose of it."

Meanwhile, Micheal seemed to be coming out of his stunned state, stopped being oblivious to what was happening around him, and said: "Oh... yes.. the canvas... right. Er.. did I miss something? I feel like I missed something."

Momentarily distracted by Eruantian's and Micheal's words, Aaron stopped seeing the life-force aura of everyone around him, but when he returned his gaze to Kalan, he found that he could still see Kalan's life-force aura. Aaron found that, by concentrating, he could now control this ability, turning it on and off by and act of concentration.

When Aaron came and asked for his identity Kalan bowed and said "I'm Kalan Belimus, at your service. A run-away kid, not much more."

Then he straightened up, looked Aaron in the eyes and asked "And you? May I ask for your name? And also, could you please answer two other questions? Are you guys part of an adventurer group? And what's with that helmet?" the boy gestured towards the helmet

In a polite tone the medic responded "Oh, my names Aaron Scrob and I guess I am part of an adventuring group..."

"Aaron!" interrupted James, his voice made it clear he was not happy with his colleague.

Sklav stared at the meat stand hungrily. He had not eaten all day. When the butcher turned away, he shot out of his hiding place, and grabbed a piece of meat. He walked off eating it raw, when he saw a large crowd walking away from a group of travelers. Curious, he asked a passerby what had happened.

"I'm alright Zelph. Don't worry... the thing was just very very pushy" Sam said to Zelph as she reassured him with a smile. She then wandered closer to Eurantian to make sure the troublesome thing was properly disposed off.
