Update is out! Time to go play with the pretty new pink wood <333
FC: SW-1445-0294-1719/PSN: TekkenGirl4Lyfe/Currently playing: Fire Emblem: The Blazing BladeWas looking at some Discord channels the other day and many of them reported that CurseForge, a website known for distributing mods, had been sabotaged through various accounts. Anyone downloading a mod from there may not only have every other mod in their computer infected, but will get all their credentials and IP (amongst other things) sent to who knows where. Obviously do not recommend using CurseForge until the malware is properly dealt with.
"There's no such thing as pure freedom in this world. Even the wind cannot blow forever."Do we know how long ago this happened?
May 22, this year.
Curseforge has released a statement saying that the infected files have been scrubbed from the site.
It affected several mods initially and tried to worm into other mod files, so mod pack makers were unknowingly redistributing it. All of the platforms that serve as modpack distribution points could potentially be affected.
Curseforge has a list of affected mods/packs and a link to a detection tool.

Pain. Only because of more pain. Understandable.
Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*With Minecraft Live comming up, we are once again getting a new mob vote.
Two options have been revealed so far.
Crabs native to mangrove swamps and whos claws can be used by players to place blocks further away:
And Armadollos native to savannas who drop materials that can be turned into armor for wolves:
Pretty promising so far.
Once again, Mojang leaves out important data about the choices.
We don't know how many blocks the crab claw extends. We don't know how much defense the dog armor gives.
I'm already seeing the crab winning, only for people getting very disappointed because it's only an one block extension. Because people never learn, unfortunately.

Seriously, my avatar comes from the embodiment of the So Bad, It's Good trope. And the final mob is the Penguin, who is native to stony shores and can help to move boats faster.
Seeing reactions, poor penguin is out of the picture, and crab and armadillo are quite even.
It seems that the crab, if it wins, will join the Glow Squid, the Allay and the Sniffer to the list of "mobs who were voted because players had very high expectations for them, Mojang in some way screwed up their implementation, then players spent all the rest of year endlessly complaining". I'm seeing lots of comments expecting an increase of overall reach for everything, when Mojang only mentioned block placing: considering Mojang's track record, I wouldn't expect anything that wasn't explicitly said in the trailer. That said, the armadillo seems to be getting much more traction than I initially thought.
By the way... Stony shores aren't exclusively a cold biome, right? I think they can also generate around hot biomes (the wiki says they only require low erosion). It would be weird to see penguins not far from a badlands biome...

Seriously, my avatar comes from the embodiment of the So Bad, It's Good trope.Sometimes I wonder what would happen if everyone just boycotted the mob vote...
FC: SW-1445-0294-1719/PSN: TekkenGirl4Lyfe/Currently playing: Fire Emblem: The Blazing BladeI mean, considering how the various penguin species irl includes Australia, Namibia, and the Galapagos, it doesn't seem that odd
Silence is golden, noise is platinum. Keelah se'laiRemember when they added Sniffers whose only purpose is digging up plants that can be used to breed more Sniffers?
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Imma be real, I'm on Team Penguin for this one. As cool as armor for dogs sound, I don't use them. Placing blocks from far away? Uhhhh I feel I'd need to see more on that to make it sound more worth it.
Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*Penguin could make for some really cool boat race courses. Aesthetically I think I like armadillos the best, though I'd rather have some sort of improvement in the pet system to make them a little less useless.
I am on Team Penguin simply because I love penguins, I'm simple like that sometimes.
I get why so many are drawn to the crab, but it definitely is the one of this batch that could the easiest turn into a letdown depending on how far the reach of the claw will be.
Honestly? I don't think that's being simple, at all. This is a mob vote. The vote should revolve around the mob themselves, with their utilities being just an added bonus. It's sad that so many people forget about the mobs, and focus exclusively on the utilities. I mean, I understand why, but it's sad.
And this is something I'm seeing the most among crab voters. Most don't seem to care the slightest about the crab itself, they only care about the extended reach. Then, they see that the armadillo is doing very well at polls (sometimes being ahead of the crab), and they go "You're so stupid! Why are you voting for dog armor? Your dogs are going to die anyway!". They don't seem to grasp the concept of voting for something other than the utility, because otherwise they would see the tons of people saying "I'm voting for the armadillo because it will be a good addition for the savannah, it's a biome that needs more life".
Yeah, I'm happy whenever I see someone saying they'll vote for the mob because they like the animal. I'll vote for the armadillo because it's always been one of my favourite animals, but I don't really care about the dog armor.

Seriously, my avatar comes from the embodiment of the So Bad, It's Good trope.I'm on team "why do we even need a vote".
FC: SW-1445-0294-1719/PSN: TekkenGirl4Lyfe/Currently playing: Fire Emblem: The Blazing BladeI'm on team "the crab is probably the most useful, but even if it weren't I would definitely still vote for it, because crab".
Your not the only one.
Discontent has risen so much over the mob vote that there's been calls for a boycott of it.
Someone even made a petition that now has over 170k signatures.
I can understand that, but their utilities are pretty much are the only thing they got going for them for me. I'm just not into animals in general, let along Minecraft.
Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*The new Minecraft wiki just hit two million edits following its split from Fandom.com. Very nice!

Found a Minecraft book on Audible narrated by Jack Black. Think they’re gearing up for the movie?
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.
Well, I'd never heard of Mineplex until now, when all the Minetubers all of a sudden started uploading videos about how important that server apparently was. It's Hypixel the one I've always had in mind.
I mean... Everyone is praising that server and saying how awesome it was, but the impression I'm getting is that nobody actually played there, and instead played in Hypixel.
From what I've read, Mineplex was once big... a long, long time ago (looking at graphs, it was dead for double the time it was alive). I guess it's like E3: every year, every single year without exception, everyone said "this E3 was horrible, WORST E3 EVER". But, when this year was cancelled, everyone started crying, talking about an age that was completely over years and years ago..
