The void gives you a completely empty world except for a small starting platform
The useful part is that while it prevents natural spawns you can spawn in monsters your self without having to use a mushroom biome.
It sounds perfect for a skyblock playthrough.
Two guys walk into a bar, the third guy ducked. So falling into the Void crashes the game now...fun.
Well, you do lose super fast mob farms then.
I assume you had the debug screen open? If so, that is MC-88357. Mojang seems to have broken the void code, likely trying to make it display "void" as the biome when in the void. Also avoid going above y=255 with the debug screen open will cause this

You know what else crashes the game, last time I checked? Deleting a world in hardcore mode by using the fucking death screen. Bullshit, if you ask me.
H.B. WardWell, nobody said that deleting a universe wouldn't have negative side effects.
Two guys walk into a bar, the third guy ducked.New snapshot
Skeleton Horses are in the game proper now. They have a low chance to spawn instead of a light bolt.
Skeletons with helmets with helmets will appear on them if you get to close. And the skeleton's AI determines movement.
If you kill the rider they are already tamed. They will despawn after a time if they aren't named.
Skeleton's also have an AI upgrade. They will now shuffle alround when attacking to make theyselves harder to hit.
The skeleton horse riders are extremely dangers, so you must go find some and steal there horses!
Fortunately I have a bow AND a nametag.
Two guys walk into a bar, the third guy ducked.Skeletons are already easily the most dangerous normal mob. Why are they getting buffed?
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Ehhh, I don't know, man. Creepers can total you if they get a blindside in. And before 1.9, you can punch a skeleton to death before it kills you (albeit with taking a lot of damage).
H.B. WardOnce you have iron armor, Creepers will maybe take off two hearts and then they're dead.
Skeletons can keep pincushioning you while you're far away, and heaven forbid one gets into water since it's basically impossible to get close to.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Alright, I have a situation. On my singleplayer world, I have an automatic egg farm and a giant chicken pen that I use to farm exp and as a result, I have way too many chicken parts and feathers to do anything with. Is it ethical to throw the chicken into my trash bin?
Two guys walk into a bar, the third guy ducked. You can probably trade raw chicken for emeralds. Or is it only cooked chicken?
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Honestly, with a farm like that, the only good way to be rid of them is to make a cool excess item disposal unit, not a simple trash can.
New snapshot out. Probably fixes boats.
Also, gives us a cape which allows us to glide.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."The new boats can fit 2 mobs including you. They're crafted the same old way but with an added shovel. They use the a and d keys to push with the left and right paddles. Hostels riding with you can still attack you, and are treated as if they're in water. And the new boats are tough.
The gliders are found in the new end ships, and can't be crafted. Using them costs durablity, but they can be repaired in an anvil using leather, and can have unbreaking put on them with an anvil.
The down side is they use the chestplate slot.
They basically go where either you're looking, but slowly drift down.
Docm already posted a design for a lauching system, that using the newly readded mob hit boxes.
Man, people who try to abstain from wooden tools all the time like me just got fucked.
I'm super amazed at the new gliders, though. When I saw them being mentioned in the Minecraft thread, I didn't even believe it! Wish I could craft them instead, though...
H.B. WardI've seen something like these gliders before. They seem to be based off a mod.
Two guys walk into a bar, the third guy ducked.Mechanics at least seem to be very similar to the ones from the Openblocks mod.
So, if I manage to build a functioning village complete with residents, are the trades worth the risk of zombie sieges? I mean I could always box up some backup testificates if the zombie apocalypse happens.
Two guys walk into a bar, the third guy ducked.Put a minecart down, shove a villager into it, then slowly push the cart all the way back to your house and put each villager into its own little stall until you've captured one of every kind of villager. Then you don't need to worry about dealing with the village itself.
Build a villager breeder if you can't get one of each from the nearby villages.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! The thing is, I already have most of the villager types and I'm only missing three farmer variants. I only want to make a levitating village because I'll eventually be overloaded with stone once my castle wall is done. I even have small areas planned for when I get the last 3 villagers. I suppose I could build a giant library around my mob grinder instead...

Two guys walk into a bar, the third guy ducked. My brother and I built a "market street" lined with little sales stalls, each staffed by a villager and themed after the wares. The farmer has hay bundles, the armorer has some outfitted armor stands, the weaponsmith has a pair of swords hanging on the wall, ect.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!
I thought that was already a setting. I know I used that before.
