Yamada squints for a moment, feeling the energy there, but restrained. Curious.

"Er...nevermind about that, sorry," Yamada scratches the back of his head and laughs nervously, "how long have the two of you lived in the village?" It's a weak change of subject, but he hopes its enough to bring the boy's attention elsewhere.

"Oh, I've lived here all my life. Mira's been here longer though..."

Okay, I'll try this again. So, what do I need to know before I shamelessly jump in.

Basic rules are in the OP, there's a recap on pages 40/41. The recap doesn't include BMA and I's character introductions. I think.

Okay, here goes nothing.

A tanuki/human hybrid woke up in the middle of the mountains, near an area inhabited by other hybirds. He then woke up.

"Where...am I? Is anyone here?"

-Silence-

-They might want to go find the nearby village-

To his luck, a village was nearby, so he walked over there to find that it was inhabited by other people. Of course, he was a newcomer, so he was a little shy.

He just continued on his merry way.

"Oh, hello!" The 1/2 tanuki should notice a blonde teenager walking towards them, calling to them in a polite manner.

"Do you need some help?"

"Um...yes, I do. I just woke up nearby this village. Do you have food, water, any/or and living quarters?"

"Yes. First things first though, what is your name?" He smiles politely.

"Mine is Nanaka."

"My name is Naota."

"Follow me then."

He stops.

"Ah, you might also be subject to a background check and have to pay to stay, depending on your circumstances. Just a bit of a warning."

He continues walking towards the tavern.

"Background check? What's that?"

"Just something to make sure you haven't done anything illegal. Oh, here we are."

Nanaka opens the door for him.

"Go talk to the woman at the bar about lodgings."

Said woman notices Naoto. She looks remarkably like Nanaka, save for a few features.

Nanaka himself turns to leave.

"I apologize, I still have some errands to run. I'll see you later though, I guess."

"Uh, hello. Are you supposed to check my..lodgings?"

He had no idea what he was talking about, as he pretty much knew nothing about his life. He had no identification except for his name.

Mira (the woman) looks at him.

"Uh.. Yes. Yeah, you need a place to live?"

She looks him over. Just in case, she shifts her aura as a greeting between spirits.

"Yes, I do. Are there any available houses?

"Oh no, no houses. I have some free apartments upstairs though. What's your name, kid?"

"Naota. Naota Nandaba."

"Huh. That's a lot of n's. You got any money?"

"No. Nothing."

"Oh.. Well, I can let you stay for a while anyway. Follow me."

She unlatches the door leading into the bar. Once Naota has followed her, she shuts it behind him and begins to walk upstairs.

Naota followed her upstairs, loathing the fact that he'll have to get money somehow, not to mention that the quality of the apartment might be terrible.

The quality of the apartments are in fact 'not'' terrible. Their overall quality is worn, but quite clean. The upper floor is split into about six apartments, with one hallway connecting all of them. A few of them appear to be used. At the end of the hallway is what appears to be a common room, with a few cushions set around a table and a stove in the corner. Mira leads Naoto to an apartment towards the end, next to the common room. There is very little inside, and the floor is covered in tatami mats. For furnishings, there is a stool in the corner next to a rolled up futon. A jug sits in another corner, and a bucket is placed just off the center of the floor.

"Er... That bucket is for.. Well, if you hafta pee in the middle of the night. If you use it, take it out in the morning and dump it in the outhouse."

"Well, looks fine to me. Any place where there's a job opening in this village?"
