ITT: We are on an intergalactic road trip II

A note for mods: the original thread is long dead, and all attempts to revive it have failed. I still intend to keep the flavour of the original, however. Complete reboot, here we go!

Somewhere in space...

A large ship drops into realspace, its superstructure ravaged with gaping red-hot voids. Though barely visible, a legend on its side reads Erinthios. It slowly drifts, a few exposed wires sparking faintly.

Inside the vessel, one or two terminals are still online, though only barely. Their holograms fill the bridge with an eerie, unnatural glow.

The med-bay's lighting system is operating, bathing everything in a glaring white light.

The hangar is almost completely wrecked; all the vessels inside it are seriously damaged, and one has its engines still cooling from a recent flight. It sits at a peculiar angle, its nose squashed against the wall and floor. A wing has been almost taken off, and scorch marks indicate its erratic path through the hangar bay. A figure still lies in the cockpit, restrained by its harness...

-jerks awake-

Ugh... what happened?

-taking a quick look around, I realise that I am in the cockpit of a starfighter... a crashed one, at that-

Woah. This must have been serious.

-I disconnect the harness... and smack against the panel-

Ow!

-gingerly I get out-

Where is everyone?

-runs along a corridor, carrying a flashlight-

Annnd... here... atmosphere is stable...good.

-pushes a buttn on a small wall panel, opening a door to the hangar-

Anybody in there?

-shines flashlight into the hangar-

Is... is that Catfish?

Catfish! Over here!

-walks toward the source of the flashlight-

-wakes up in med-bay-

Wow, that must have been one crazy party. Where am I?

-a small computer chirps next to Yarrunmace-

Patient has been found to be healthy. Discharging from care...

Flanker! Good to see you're still alive!

-moves towards him, through the debris-

I walked through half the ship, at the least the bits where the hull integrity's still preserved, thought I might check the hangars...

-A distress call, intermittently interrupted by static can be heard from what speakers are still functioning aboard the ship.-

General distress... -KHHRHGH- TVT Erinthios reporting heavy damage. Hull integrity compromised. All personnel are to- -Another burst of static-

Smart move. I was about to leave the hangar anyway...

-jabs a thumb behind himself-

After all, I doubt much of value is left here.

-pauses as he hears the transmission through a half-broken speaker-

That was L3wt. Come on, we've got to find him!

Yeeeeah. Nothing much le-

[transmission]

Yeah, let's go. Any idea where he could be?

I'm not sure, but I think that the Bridge may be as good a place as any...

Probably. The way I took to here looked pretty safe, let's try that. As much as I remember about the deckplans, that should take us to the bridge too. It's just a bit dark here and there.

That's why this is the first thing I picked up. -waves flashlight-

.*Finds himself in a room surrounded by walls of debris and the ceiling is collapsed*

Why am I here? I never went on an intergalactic road trip!

-The distress call keeps going.-

Heavy casualties... -Static- Hostiles may still be aboard.

.*Hears something about hostiles through walls*

What? People are trying to kill me? THIS IS TERRIBLE!

Good thinking. I think that our suits will probably allow us to stay alive in the unpressurised sections.

-goes past the room Reecer 6 is in-

And it wouldn't hurt to look out for any other survivors.

-hears the transmission and Reecer 6-

Hostiles? Oh, great. I've only got this laser carbine... and is that someone inside that room? Let's get them out.

-awakens in a hallway, half-buried under a pile of bodies and debris-

...Ugh. This stinks.

-slowly pulls himself out, surveying the area in mounting confusion-

...Where the hell am I?

-looks through a porthole in the door-

What? How did I get here? A matter of fact, I don't believe there was a party last night.

-sees a space suit in some wreckage-

Yep. Thank god the universal key still works. You'd think they overstate the usefulness in those drills... five numbers that can save your life, but...

What, hostiles? I've got a gun, but I don't think shooting is a good idea in such a weakened ship... anyway. -enters key code into door panel-

Let's hope the door's not jammed.

Hey, is that you, Reecer?

Please use the master key, Catfish.

The hallway Sullen Frog finds himself in is fairly long, and is dotted with rubble. Voices seem to come from the far end...

I repeat, hostiles are... Ah, feth! -The distinctive loud blast of a boltgun sounds several times, before the speakers fall silent.-

-deciding that following those voices might help him to figure out where he is and what is going on, Sullen creeps over to a pile of rubble and picks up a heavy, jagged chunk of masonry; after testing its weight and heft, he nods-

Yep. Perfect size to brain someone with, I believe.

-not bothering to ponder how he knows this, Sullen begins creeping towards the voices as quietly as possible, ready to smash skulls if the owners of the voices happen to be hostile...-

-shines light into the room-

Are you alright? Any injuries?

[transmission]

Goddammit, sound like l3wt's out. And we still don't know what hostiles are...

I think it was part of our crew/passenger manifest... right, Catfish?

-notices Sullen Frog and raises his laser carbine in case-

Who's there?

-hears the transmission-

Great. We'll have to speed up.
