Greetings. This is the thread for requesting assistance with recovering a TV Tropes account for which you have forgotten the password.
Before posting here, please note that Get Known has a comprehensive set of instructions for managing your account. To summarize, password resets are limited as follows:
- If you have an associated email address, use the Lost Password link on the login screen to request a reset email. If that doesn't work, post here.
- If you do not have an associated email address but you are still logged in, you can register an email address and use it for recovering your password.
- If you do not have an associated email address, and have not used your previous account since September 18, 2013, we cannot verify your ownership for technical reasons.
- To verify ownership without an email address, and if you have used your previous account recently, you should be logged in on the same computer and/or Internet connection that you most recently edited or posted from.
- It is not currently possible for moderators to reset your password or change your registered email address. As a last resort, you may use our contact form
to send a message to "The Staff".

Hey, I had an account before under 'Prototype000', but the password doesn't seem to work. Would it be possible to get help for that?

Can you reset Carlita or give me a hint? Thanks. Oh, and I'm probably on a different IP atm, on laptop. Just a few characters from the password should be enough to jog my memory, though.

Hi, I have a problem. I forgot the username I used on my ipod, had to delete my cookies when I reset it, and every time I try get known with this account, I get informed that there is only one account allowed per ip address. If there was some kind of fix for this (I'm pretty sure that my username had shepshep and two numbers in it like this one and I will figure out the password pretty quickly) it would be awesome.
Strike that, this account just started working.

Hey! I forgot my password for the account "jumberlack," hence why I'm posting here. I only made one addition to the wiki, then immediately forgot my password. Whoops! Finding out I can only have one account per IP address was an unpleasant surprise for me, and I'd appreciate if someone could reset the password for that account, or even delete it, since I only meant for it to be a temporary account. Speaking of the account limit, could an admin somehow make this thread available for anonymous posters to post in? I had to use a proxy to post here.

My handle was Shanethefilmmaker after a virus attack I had to system restore costing me some profiles on forums including this one. I recovered the others on the other sites but I couldn't log on to this one because I forgot my password.
Shanethefilmmaker's account was reset.
