Greetings. This is the thread for requesting assistance with recovering a TV Tropes account for which you have forgotten the password.
Before posting here, please note that Get Known has a comprehensive set of instructions for managing your account. To summarize, password resets are limited as follows:
- If you have an associated email address, use the Lost Password link on the login screen to request a reset email. If that doesn't work, post here.
- If you do not have an associated email address but you are still logged in, you can register an email address and use it for recovering your password.
- If you do not have an associated email address, and have not used your previous account since September 18, 2013, we cannot verify your ownership for technical reasons.
- To verify ownership without an email address, and if you have used your previous account recently, you should be logged in on the same computer and/or Internet connection that you most recently edited or posted from.
- It is not currently possible for moderators to reset your password or change your registered email address. As a last resort, you may use our contact form
to send a message to "The Staff".

@rffrfflo, I found some edits under "rffrff", but they are very old - like November or something, and they don't show up in a history search. The IP addresses of those edits don't match your current one, though, which means you might as well just discard it and use a new handle..

yes they are probably very old, andI did not think of it but it is likely I was in another country (as I ping pong around europe a bit). Not a big deal anyway thanks :)
I'm Enlong, and my password seems to have vanished into the ether after I tried to change it for security reasons. It doesn't respond to any version of the new password that I can remember, and while I am logged in elsewhere, not even the "current pass" shown on the password changer will log me in. Hell, when I try to change the password again on the only box I'm still logged in on, it says that the password it automatically entered as the old one is incorrect. Both my old password and my new one have failed me. If I even have a password anymore, I sure don't know what it could be. It's baffling.

No, I'm using the same laptop as usual.
Fighteer: Sort of. During April, I had to use my laptop while my computer was in the shop. I'm back on my usual comp now.

I just set up a handle last week and now that I'm on a different computer, I realised that I never wrote down the password, so now the Lilbun U Wiz account needs to be reset. If that's not too much trouble.

I'm sorry, but I can't validate either of those requests, since they aren't coming from the same IP addresses.
DA 2: You said you changed computers, but all of DA's edits came from the same Comcast IP address. Your current IP is also Comcast, but that is hardly conclusive, and it's nowhere close to the old one.

DA and Lilbun U Wiz have been reset, as there was only a few watchlist items for DA and no edit history for Lilbun U Wiz.
