This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

I got suspended for bad grammar. I may not be native speaker, but I don't think my contributions to articles are below average. Can I be unsuspended?

@Mackus You should go to the the English as second language Thread.
I can't promise anything, (Heck my word's less effective than most since i'm banned too) but asking around there is a real nice way to get started for non-native speakers.

Ugh, I was comparing my edits with those made later by other people, and they are mostly "Damn you hindsight!" types of mistakes. Most of time I check several times for any mistakes, and by third preview I get most of them. But apparently some of them do sneak through. Also, since the articles I contribute to most are the ones I visit often, I usually correct myself after day or two, if some bugs sneaked through previews. I found couple I'd like to fix now, if I were kindly unsuspended.
You both realize that poor editing makes more work for other editors. That's why we suspend in these cases. We have plenty of non-native English speakers who manage just fine, so we don't consider that a valid excuse.
All that said, you both appear aware of your mistakes and willing to correct them.
@serialkillerwhale: I don't care if you stay away from World Of Warcraft or not. The issue there is your use of hyperbolic language. I can let you have another chance, but there won't be any more.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"@Fighteer Understood so i should stay away from caps lock and overemphasizing words as well? Do you mind if i just stay here for a while and chat with you about how to edit properly?
I'd rather not use this thread. You can PM me.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I know I was ranting but, honestly, when Nimmer Still said that a double standard was okay it made me believe that they believed that for some reason America ruled. If you look, I have accepted his point and when they rephrased it it became clear to me that they were not arrogant, I was just misunderstood. This can happen to everyone. Based on mentioning when it has happened previously I think you mean the instance in which I thoroughly apologised and, this time the incomprehension dealt the other way, elaborated that I did not believe English should be predominant over American.
Before you mention about that, if in America they teach that it's English English and American English I shan't argue, but we're given the distinction of Yank and English and (despite a failing Education Secretary) I'd like to be allowed my own education, rather than Americans dictating their own as correct.
If in any way it is wrong on here for me to tell people that I think they're being racist and homophobic before they explain what they meant then I shan't ever mention English/American differences except where absolutely necessary and only say "I think that's racist" rather than re-enact the Liberty War.
Your ranting here has proved that you do not understand why you were banned or how to correct said issue. You are far too angry for this wiki and as you have no intention of apologizing or reforming, your ban shall be indefinite.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickEdited by tryourbreast on Nov 3rd 2019 at 9:30:12 PM
A pit of mothingnessFor this abomination of grammar and PSOC: Arbitrary Minimum Range
I'm not sure which is worse: that you thought it was launch-worthy, or that at least four other people in YKTTW thought it was launch-worthy.

A pit of mothingnessFirst off, some of the examples are just plain false (the World Of Warcraft one comes to mind; the only minimum range in the game was ranged weapons, which is now gone). Second, the title is "Arbitrary" Minimum Range — "arbitrary" has a definition, and it's not what you're using. It has nothing to do with Arbitrary Maximum Range, for one thing. There are good reasons why a piece of artillery can't fire point blank that have nothing to do with narrative convenience.
That and the fact that the description is so poorly written as to be nearly incomprehensible makes me weep for YKTTW.

A pit of mothingnessEven if you don't take responsibility for the examples (which you should, as the trope's launcher), you should learn to write better. You haven't even addressed that part. We have to stop YKTTW from launching these half-assed concepts.

A pit of mothingnessI'm going to try to get that YKTTW unlaunched so it can be fixed. As for you, you need to stop by the Help with English thread before I'll restore your privileges. As your project, fix that description.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I'm suspended, but I have no idea why.
You've been bowlderising pages, either intentionally or through the use of a nanny-bot.

"Yup. That tasted purple."In what way? What examples? And if so, how have I done it enough that you consider me unable to contribute to the wiki?
Edit: Oh, I see what you mean. I do have a swear word filter. I figured out how to disable it.

Your suspension is lifted on the condition that you turn off any nannybot programs when you edit.
Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur. Why was I suspended from editing?
"Of course you do realize, this means war!" -Bugs BunnyBowlderising in general and removing DMOS entries.
"Yup. That tasted purple."If I see any cursing then I can just ignore it, as for DMOS entries I could ignore it too. I believe both really don't matter to me than.

1: Thread Mode It was there for quick some time, I just felt it was ok to dive in after watching it stand there for awhile.
2 and 4: I guess I should stay of World Of Warcraft then? It's really hard to be unbiased when you're actually in the lore community unfortunately. Sorry there, Really needed to hear that from someone else. EDIT: For 4 especially, I thought that since "I take X and raise you Y" was ok, a bit of talking on the main page for comedic effect was perfectly fine. Guess not.
3: The Team Fortress 2 section had an area that seemed to look like it said something about the Spy Class having a preferred map, I tried to add it to the list.
EDIT: I know it sounds like justification, just wanted you to know my reasons.
So I should check up on grammar, avoid World Of Warcraft, and use spellcheck more often. Am i correct?
