This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

You made the exact same edits as a troper who was just banned for edit warring on that very same article. It's a little too suspicious to simply overlook, and we've had our fill of shipping wars anyway.

I don't even look up the history of s page before I edit them and I cited canon evidence for my edit- I don't understand why it's apparently so far fetched to see that trope to the point someone thought I was being told to do it by some random
Can't you IP track me or check my pms and/or history?
As for edit wars, I've never partaken in one and if someone DOES delete something I've added I've just moved on

I got into an edit war earlier with another troper on the Pokémon Sun and Moon YMMV page after I added an entry for Seinfeld Is Unfunny. Several hours later, I ended up suspended from editing. Turns out that also gets you banned from seeing discussion sections on pages as well.
Initially, they removed it because Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon weren't to have been officially released for a couple of hours, which was fair enough - the reason why I didn't wait until after that point was because there were already spoilers from the leaked copies from last week on the various sections for both games' pages, along with a number of people having got them a day early from independant stores; and in hindsight I probably should have waited until afterwards in that regard.
After readding it, they removed it again because and cited that USUM's story changes weren't enough to cause the aforementioned trope to apply to SM, even though I specifically stated the gameplay reasons why USUM rendered them redundant, along with SM's story being their main selling point.
I have the games now. There are some changes during the main story, but they're rather minor even after the most significant deviation more than halfway through the main game and don't change the gameplay outside of a couple of bosses being swapped with others, one new location replacing another's point in the story, Mina having a trial and a Boss Rush against the trial captains before being allowed to progress through the game's equivalent of Victory Road.
My point was that the list of gameplay aspects exclusive to SM and not in USUM is rather small by the standards of the series' Updated Rereleases - USUM are still third versions, but come in a pair instead of being a singular release ans don't feature a blend of their predecessor's exclusive encounters while lacking some of the regular ones to make up for it, like Diamond/Pearl/ and Platinum do for example (even Black 2 and White 2, Black and White's supplementary versions, the first paired ones, are less third versions and more full blown sequels with brand new maingame stories, lack access to a large number of the version-exclusive Pokémon that the original pair has). TLDR, the gameplay reasons to choose SM over USUM are limited even in comparison to what mutually-exclusive things prior main pairs and third versions have, and that's what I tried to convey in my edits.
Multiple games in the series feature Seinfeld Is Unfunny entries on their YMMV pages because of advancements in gameplay. If I understand correctly, the whole point of the trope is that something that was revolutionary/unique at the time of their debut seems less so in present day to due to newer works now commonly doing those things or managing to do them much better than the original work did.
Those aside, is this edit warring the reason behind my suspension?

First of all, it looks like both of you were using edit reasons to argue. Please, if there's conflict in regards to an entry, take it to discussion and be civil.
Second of all, we do not trope content that isn't officially revealed, nor do we trope speculations. No exceptions.

We might have to wait a while before our suspensions become eligible for lifting - I'm guessing it'll probably be similar to timed bans on other websites. Posting in this thread seems to be just one of the steps in the process.

I was suspended from editing a few weeks ago and came to the thread to talk about it (it had to do with my contribution to the Hoist by His Own Petard page). I am still unable to edit following coming to this forum. May I ask what else I should do to smooth things over with the moderators or how much longer my suspension is scheduled to last? Thanx.

~Mynamesnotjean: You were suspended a little over a year ago for significant grammar problems. Just because you only edit Headscratchers articles doesn't mean that we don't still require proper English. Take this gem:
- in the episode the longest distance relationship jeff tells to wait for him and uses a black hole that brings him to earth but its 60 years in the future and millionaire matt davis is still alive but after hayley dies and jeff feels bad for making her waste her life he goes out the same black hole and tells her to move on but then roger enters haley's room followed by matt who roger kills so... paradox i have a few theory but they make little sense?

Hi there,
I got an editing suspension because I edited the trope page of Sakura Haruno/The Naruto series, specifically the 'Earn your Happy ending' trope
Apparently someone thinks I was doing it because of 'meat puppetry' i.e a banned user asked me to? I don't speak/message anyone on this site or know anyone who even uses this site, and I edited the trope because I caught up on the manga and anime and thus was putting in what I viewed as canon interactions with one another- not because someone told me to but I guess the page gets enough traffic/discussion as is. Either way, I'm willing to let sleeping dogs lie considering especially if it's a controversial trope/topic
