This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

It would seem to me that the consensus is in favor of my edits, not against them. One editor trying to have a strangehold on a band's article does not equal a "consensus" and falsely accusing me of being another editor because one doesn't like the facts is a suggestion of very deep denial, especially when I offer a major progressive rock magazine and a progressive rock musician's thoughtful examinations as justification for my edits, whereas nothing is offered for what is plainly vandalism.
As was noted above, you need to work on the attitude before we will consider unsuspending you.
An entitlement complex does not make for a good editor.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Are you "entitled" to argue with the facts? How about making sure the corrections are in place, if nothing else? I fail to see how I am participating in an "edit war" when I offer sources for my edits.
You've nailed your colours to the mast in an "I'm right and everyone else is wrong" manner.
Holding evidence does not give you the right to talk down to other editors.
"Yup. That tasted purple."I looked at the article I edited and the Sea of Tranquility quote was removed - why? What purpose does that serve other than denying its existence? Sea of Tranquility is a well-respected progressive rock magazine, so what is the problem with quoting their review of one of the band's albums or using it to justify why the band is not nu metal but progressive metal?
I did not "talk down" to you or anyone else. I'm sorry if I appeared this way. I am not acting out of "entitlement", I am being objective.
Your edits were removed because if you are the same person who's been making multiple accounts to push their agenda with respect to this band, you don't get to do anything at all on the wiki. Ban evaders get all their edits reverted on principle, regardless of whether they are correct.
I smell factionalism. Factionalism gives me heartburn and makes me want to ban everyone involved.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I don't know what factionalism is and I have never edited this site before - ever. I wouldn't recommend it if this is the way you treat new contributors, and you don't even have an article on jazz metal? The first thing I did on this site, ever, was post a talk page remark opening for someone else to make edits for me. Since no one stepped up to the plate, I made the changes myself. Now please stop asserting that I am a "banned editor" - maybe you should question why any previous editors who made such edits were banned in the first place if the sources are intact and there's only one person objecting to the edits. I'm not sure abusing me is the best way to get your point across.
Are you sure it was even the same person making the other edits?
And I consider it "pushing an agenda" when you have a well-respected progressive rock magazine, Sea of Tranquility, and a progressive rock musician, making well-reasoned arguments why Mudvayne is not a nu metal band, and one person decides "no, because I say so" and bans everyone who makes an edit contrary to his opinion.
Ah, this is interesting. You're the same person who is currently edit warring on Wikipedia over this exact topic. Given the fact that you've been instructed to pull the matter to discussion on both sites and refused, I believe that you are a troll. Hence, you'll be given the chance to read this and then fully banned from the site. You had your chance and blew it.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Hello. I was banned fromm here several months ago. Because I don't fallowed rules and did wrong edits. But I'm really sorry about that. So maybe you can have my second change. And I'm sorry for my grammar. I'm from Lithuanian and I do grammar mistakes.
~Lithuanian1996: Your post, above, contains significant grammatical errors. We aren't suspending you as a punishment, but because we expect correct English from our editors. If you wish to demonstrate proficiency or ask for help, you may post in this thread, but you need to show us you can do better before you'll be allowed to resume editing.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I would like to continue editing. I apologize for earlier clumsiness and think I have a lot to contribute to this site.
jatay, I took a look at the last dozen or so pages you edited and I see a lot of grammar problems, plus some other issues. I for one am willing to consider lifting your suspension since it's almost a year old and your first offense; please read through Example Indentation and Conversation In The Main Page and report back when you're done, preferably with a summary of how your previous work ran afoul of those guidelines, and we can discuss from there.

@jatay: I would add that the few posts you've made in the Help with English thread haven't really been enough to gauge whether you're ready to edit again. You made a number of mistakes from what I saw.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I promise I will get past YKTTW the next time I am about to make a new article. I'm sorry for not doing that the last time.
Sometimes I don't realize there is already an article and end up making a duplicate of it.And will you index articles you create, and crosswick them? In other words, do the basic work that is required to make a trope that can generate Wiki Magic.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Previously I didn't know how to index, but now I should know.
P.S. What is crosswicking?
Sometimes I don't realize there is already an article and end up making a duplicate of it.Making references to your article on other pages.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"OK, thanks. Ready to get my suspension lifted?
Sometimes I don't realize there is already an article and end up making a duplicate of it.Okay I contacted with them. What do I need do more, to get unbanned?

That wasn't the request. We want you to be able to demonstrate that you have improved your grammar skills. Not to just ask the thread to fix your stuff.
"Yup. That tasted purple."
Er, no. With that attitude, you won't be doing anything. As I said, we've had several accounts, some of which were obvious socks of the others, all trying to make the same edit. I don't give a flying flip about the precise musical subgenre that a given group is classified under; it seems like an absurdly pointless thing to squabble over.
The point, however, is that you continued the long-running edit war, which means we suspend your wiki privileges until we figure out what's going on.
