Ohh, I missed it. I had a similar case in the Archer quests where I'm tasked to find someone but I'm like "HE'S RIGHT THERE!"

Have a couple Gamescom interviews.

A lot of just mechanics stuff, small quality of life works, expanding cross-realm stuff.

Something I saw they said that was interesting is that apparently Return to Ivalice is going to be way more rooted in the main story than Crystal Tower and Shadows of Mhach were, which makes sense, but they didn't even want to divulge ANY info about it at Gamescom.

I bet they're hiding Viera from us.

Well, that's fantastic... but how does it count up all the currency we currently have?

Will we have a "beast tribe converter" who takes our current ones for the currency, or does it just filch them out of our inventory?

I'm sure that it's still going to be different currencies as before, only now they're in a list within the currencies tab.

eh, as an ff12 fan I admit some small part of me wonders whether the first raid tier is the ruined of an FFT era Rabanastre just as a fuck you to people who didnt like FFT as much as other Ivalice stuff.

These are not canon to the actual Ivalice, just like all the other scenarios that are blatant shout outs to older Final Fantasies aren't canon to those either.

Since it wouldn't do to hurt the feelings of either games' fans, it'll probably just be a mishmash of both Ivalices.

Oh i agree. Its mostly just because ive seen one too many posts on the reddit celebrating that its tactic ivalice from people who are simultaneously insulting all other ivalice related media.

The issue is you're listening to what Reddit has to say.

The whole idea that its shitting on XII is weird cuz the Royal City of Rabanastre is the first raid. The story elements are Tactics but location and visual motifs so far are all XII.

There's location overlap between the games.

Goug is a city in both, for example.

yeah, its the first raid. Implying its a ruin and everyone who we ever cared about plotwise in the city is long dead.

It'd be kinda like theming it off FFT but in the necrohol of Mullond with ramza's corpse over in the corner.

plus keep in mind if its FFT time, we have no idea of all the non-humans are extinct or not

Could be Rabanastre needs liberating the way it technically did back in XII, or is otherwise under attack by forces from Tactics' Ivalice. They could go all sorts of directions with it.

Given this is a non-canon for funsies extended shout out, I doubt they're going to be dissing one or the other in favor of its counterpart.

Didn't the developers say FFT in this game was a story told by the Garleans?

Maybe they took the stories from other cultures that they conquered and added it to their own culture

Surprise Twist; it's actually Tactics Advance Ivalice, and someone has unleashed the Grand Grimoire, transforming some random city into locations from an old story.

The antagonist is some poor paraplegic who just wanted to walk again all along.

In all seriousness, I have a feeling that we will meet Ramza and Delita as either fictional characters or the real deal transported in some strange world. I don't see why the teaser art would have those two guys on display even if it's only their backs shown.
