People are saying there's a bug where if you fish in a spot in La Noscea it freaks out the entire game so hard it takes the server down
I'm uh... not sure what to think of something so small causing something so big, quite the ripple effect.
Considering how big some of the fish I've dragged in are, I can believe it.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.fish too bomb
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaSo, stream earlier, pre-orders begin on the 24th of January, the expansion comes out on June 20th with a four day early access for pre-orders
Physical CE is $200 USD and comes with an art box (the contents of which we do not know), an art book, a cloth map of Eorzia, a Stormblood title sticker, and a statue of Legatus Zenos yae Galvus
The Digital CE is $60 and comes with A Syldra mount, Wind-up Bartz (with Boco), and a Chicken Knife rapier for RDM with a plush chocobo for a spell focus.
Standard cost is $40
You WILL have to have completed up to 3.5 to enter Ala Mhigo, no word on story skip potions yet.
Red Mage WILL BE IN A 2.0 AREA and unlockable at level 50, meaning you don't need to have done 3.5 and enter Ala Mhigo to unlock the class, you don't even need to have entered Heavensward. It starts at level 50, as well.
Legatus Galvus is blatantly a samurai in the statue we saw, that combined with the datamined code showing a Samurai job story seems to have confirmed they'll be our second class.
And unrelated to Stormblood but they'll also be releasing a book of concept art from 3.0, if you purchase it you get a wind-up Hraesvelgr and an exclusive Orchestrion roll.

$200? No thanks.
Aether going down two days in a row was rather "sloppy"
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. So trying the Feast again after a year of not playing it, it felt rather....refreshing being able to play without everyone telling me every other match to get cancer or to have my parents die in a car crash.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. So what happens if you manage to cheese Ozma's Doomsday spell? It pelts you with smaller meteors until you die. Yes, the developers actually had a fucking backup plan if you avoided the instant death spell.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Dipping back into the game after four months away. Need to remind myself where I was up to in various questlines.
It's been over half a year for me. I hope I remember how to craft things when I finally resub.
but HOW?Currently looking at getting back into an MMO as I haven't itched that scratch in a long time and I've decided to go for FFXIV. Living a life of no regrets I just outright bought the game (trial restrictions are ridiculous) so does anyone have any advice for a new players to a long established MMO like this?
I will admit it took me far longer than it should have to work out why there was so little chatter and talk, took grouping up a few times and realising this was shared with consoles.
Still enjoying the game so far all the same, a tank in the making.
It gives you all the tools you need to succeed in the main story, really. Side quests that are important (since side quests unlock pretty much everything in this game) will have +'s on them, so do those whenever you see them.
Players will expect you to know the mechanics of every encounter as a tank, but the playerbase is mostly pretty cool, so don't be afraid to ask. Looking things up doesn't hurt either, but you shouldn't necessarily have to.
Though the early game encounters are mostly tank and spanks anyway, so it's nothing you can't handle. By about level 30 things ramp up in complexity.
Anyone here go to Balmung? What's it like? The only friend I have with an active subscription at the moment generally uses that server, so...
but HOW?I am. It's alright. One of the more populated servers and it's the one most popular for role playing.
Balmung always has people out and about. I wouldn't recommend turning on shouts while in a city (ESPECIALLY Ul'dah). There's a lot of "special" people on the shout channel.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.I dunno if/how new players can access it, but there is a chat channel now called Novice Network. As a returning player (someone who was away for a certain amount of time, but has characters above a certain level, I think), I have access, and the people there are genuinely helpful and friendly.
I have seen my share of asshats in the game too, but thankfully they seem to be in a very small minority.
I gotten banned from the official forums for "criticizing the developers". Well, that's part of it. Turns out I was banned for that AND an infraction I had from 2015 (for insulting another user). While my "criticism" was more in sarcasm towards another user on a different subject, I am pretty miffed that I got banned overall just for two infractions separated by literal years. I am not kidding when I say you aren't allowed to criticize the game, the developers, or Square-Enix themselves. I seen others get suspended/banned for it and now I'm just another statistic. It really ticks me off how there's so many bad apples there that continue to keep being bad and they never get any warnings.
Then again, this is probably for the better. The forums are pretty bad overall with people being rude, trolling, or outright plain dumb with constant spam of the same kind of topics (1.0 butts, Viera, cash shop is evil, etc) and staying there was probably bad for my mental being. I migrated over to Reddit and it seems to be pretty okay so far.
Just a rant post.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order....what did you even say?
but HOW?Something to the effect of how the devs can't implement features A B and C cause it took them so long to get stuff done like chocobos being pets and RMT right click report.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. What was your wording? How you deliver the message can be more important than the message itself.
but HOW?Samurai is new job!
Apparently it's melee dps.
... so we've got two of those. Very strange.

Samurai is a melee DPS. No other jobs being introduced for Stormblood.
We will have the Roe Samurai Gosetsu introduced next patch, he's going to be important in the next patch.

They probably couldn't come up with any new ideas for the other roles. Shame.
Hoping for a new race announcement but I dunno how like that is.

Derplander, you looked so much better as a Monk. That haircut, blech.
Chaos is trying to stop the game!
