Still one of my favorite series, despite the Lighter and Softer directions its been going in. The color Sunday comics are usually good.

Yeah, I have nothing further to add to that comic, it's just great.

Sinfest is pretty good for a webcomic, does suffer from lack of subtlety at times.

I just don't get the current strip. Didn't Slick's latest abstinence experiment start the day he was born?

I don't read this comic, but the mention of cats made me click that link.

Okay, am I the only one who thinks the third panel from this strip would be the perfect image for Punch-Clock Villain?

Yeah, we don't have an image there, and that one would work well.

Edit: We do have one there, so it's a toss up.

I don't know anything about The Venture Brothers or Sinfest, but fwiw, I think the latter is more obviously relevant to the trope. The current one is just two guys in bee costumes.

I'm thinking of making an image choosing thread to get rid of all the shoehorned in poorly drawn Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha pics make sure the pictures are iconic.

Ah, so you offer up a trope and we all go out and find our best picture for it, then we decide?

Yeah, basically. I'll go do it now, since I'm slacking off anyway.

Ah Sinfest bit of a love/hate with this comic. While I sometimes don't like the jokes I can't resist Pooch and his feline friend. Nor it appears reading about Fushia's crush on Criminy.

According to a forum user:

It is stylized like Sanskrit, but it's easy enough to read as "nam myoho renge kyo" if you look closely. It's the common mantra of Nichiren Buddhism and means something like "devotion to the law of the Lotus Sutra."

That sounds like Japanese. Odd mix of languages there.

According to The Other Wiki, it's the Daimoku, a Bhuddist mantra meant to be chanted. It contains a lot of ideas and symbolism for a phrase so small.

Also, I love reading the strips with the devil girl and the nerd boy (does that count as Shotacon? How old is he?). On the other hand, I hate and never read the comics with the dog and the cat. I always get annoyed when they come up. Specially because they come up in groups.

Most of the characters are a nebulous age. Slick is "between 14 and 21", and I'd imagine Criminy to be similar.

Actually, just found an archive of the old cast page. Crimmy is "10, maybe 34." So Yeah.

Also, Monique is 16. I guess that means it was illegal for all the people who slept with her.

I think it's implied that she hasn't actually slept with anyone.

Also, only illegal in some states.
