Yeah. I said the same thing actually. Lacks the same bite it had before.
Well, that was interesting.
One Strip! One Strip!I dunno why, but I never found the Shadow Temple that scary. It was always the well that got me the most.
at the final battle.
not very happy with the fact i have to escape the castle again upon losing.
whelp. beat him dead.
so, im wondering two things;
if the great deku tree had a free fairy to give, and the goal was to raise link like a kokiri...why wait till he's about to keel over before he gives link the fairy?
and 2nd, i wonder what made ganondorf turn into ganon (permanently at that) in the defeat timeline? it cant have been during the final fight with link because koume and kotake are still alive in the defeat timeline, so link didnt get that far. it cant have been the sealing itself during the seven sages war, because when ganon is sealed in the sacred realm he turns back into ganondorf and while he keeps the name, he's pretty human in WW, while in lttp onwards he's exclusively pig-ganon with little to no real indication of sentience.

He only seems to lose his sentience after Link kills him in ALTTP, so perhaps he came to the original version of the 'Ganon' form more naturally during his imprisonment, perhaps voluntarily? I don't think we see him outside the Sacred Realm in ALTTP, and Ganondorf could only appear as an enormous floating head in the Child Timeline's Twilight Realm; so something similar could be at play.

...The well was creepier. All for the Re Deads and Dead Hand.
It looked like it used to be human...
I don't like the retro design they used for Link in ALBW.
I'd have preferred the used the design they used for Four Swords, Wind Waker, Minish Cap, and Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks. That one is the best design IMO.
It's also the one they've used the most. And it really has nothing to do with A Link to the Past, which ALBW was clearly inspired by. There's nothing wrong with doing different designs. I actually prefer it to using the same one over, and over, and over again.
For me, the Kakariko Well was scarier because of the invisible pitfalls. Falling onto the hand-shaped basement floor with the green toxic fluids and the ReDeads .... scary shit.
At least in the Shadow Temple it IS the whole point to go gradually under to reach the boss.
Of course, at my age of 26, none of the games that gave me Nightmare Fuel (OOT, MM, TWW) scare me anymore.

135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Nothing wrong with keeping a good design. Many of the greatest game series have consistently portrayed characters.

Keep in mind, it was turned into a sequel of ALTTP. Using that design is also a good way to keep consistency.
That said, using all of the potential designs is a good thing too. There's more than one actual Link, so using different designs also helps signify this.
Hopefully we can get more visual variation in future Links. Even just using the NES Link's brown / red hair or the green eyes from SS's Silent Realm would be a welcome change.
...If you just change the design like that, what's next? A female Link? Link with a power suit like Samus?
... But I like the chainmail undershirt/fancy leather gauntlet look from TP and SS.
And technically, there's no reason there COULDN'T be a female Link, what with reincarnation and all. It'd probably have to be an alternate option than anything, but hey.

I sure said that!I wonder if they'd have her rescue/serve a prince, or if Zelda would stay the same.
I got no issues with a female Link. It's just a player avatar. I'd prefer to directly play as Zelda(without being forced to play as Link to get to this point. Basically, I don't want another ST scenario. Just make her completely independent of him when playable, controls or otherwise), but still. Link's sex honestly doesn't seem irrelevant to me. Not after the constant ability to transform into other creatures.
@Pulse: That's like saying Link could be straight instead of gay. No way.
I was just joking people... XP
Female Link would be nice, actually.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."Bleh. No thank you. Rule 63 of Link is common enough, I don't think we need to canonize it. :P
I see no reason why not.
Or at the very least a good game with Zelda as the protagonist.
"It's so hard to be humble, knowing how great I am."What about Zelda disguised as Link?
It's not like she hasn't pretended to be a man before.
Also, I just went through the Gerudo fortress. Now that I know you can jump the gorge (I always used the hookshot until the bridge was fixed), I was doing it every time, unfortunately, having rescued all the carpenters, that's no longer an option.
Ah well. Good tunes at least.
One Strip! One Strip! If there was a Link that was a girl, there would have to be something rather special about her or the game she's in.
And that would be a risky development strategy...
@Pulse: Technically speaking, they could go with route of soul having gender so every reincarnation is same gender :P
But yeah, I don't have issue with female Link either.
I'm not against female Link exactly, but it's not something I'd do. It could be done well, but it's more likely they'd mess it up somehow. If Nintendo wants another female character, make one. If Zelda needs a female character, just make Zelda herself the main protagonist.
