...wait, what's the Giant's Knife?
I always got Biggoron's Sword as soon as I could, but I haven't heard of Giant's Knife.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.it's like a fake Biggorons sword that breaks when you use it.
It can still be used when broken and actually swings pretty fast, though of course, it has even less range than the Master Sword.
I sure said that!and probably does less damage than the kokiri sword.
It has the same power as the Master Sword, actually. Broken or non-broken.
huh.
guess the sword of evil's bane really is kind of...slipping. no wonder it needed to be re-powered in WW.
To be fair, the Master Sword must be used to kill Ganon.
The Biggoron's Sword does more damage than the Master Sword as well. The Giant Knife's doesn't allow you to defend, so at least it gets you used to the Biggoron's Sword? Really, there's no reason to the GK by default. Besides true 100% collection. Get every upgrade, etc.
The Sword of Evil's Bane is frequently Overshadowed by Awesome. Its first appearance in the entire franchise was Link to the Past, where it was the second-weakest sword in the game; the progression going Sword < Master's Sword < Tempered Master Sword < Golden Sword. The Tempered Sword is just the Master Sword after some smithies have had their way with fixing it up, but the Golden Sword is given to you by a Faerie in exchange for the Master Sword.
Sometimes, the Master Sword needs to be powered up in order to be Awesome. Sometimes, it needs to be replaced outright. It's rare for the Master Sword to be the best blade in the game by itself.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Actually, the fairy upgrades your equipment, she doesn't trade it. So the Golden Sword is also an upgraded Master Sword.
The Master Sword is the best sword in 4 games, Oracle, WW, TP, and SS. The Master Sword upgraded into the Golden Sword is the best in 2 games, ALttP and ALBW. The only game where the Master Sword is replaced is OoT with the Biggoron Sword.
So that's actually a bit more than half the games where the regular Master Sword is the best sword.
Well actually, Oracle does have the Biggoron Sword as well, and it does do more damage, but it doesn't replace the Master Sword in your inventory and it kind of sucks since it takes up both items slots, is really slow, and IICR you can't spin attack with it, while the Master Sword's spin attack is just as strong as the Biggoron Sword.
Oh, yeah.

I'm assuming SW is supposed to be Skyward Sword?
For the Giant's Wallet, you need to kill only 30 Gold Skulltulas, not 40. Unless what you actually want is 10 Bombchus.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Funny thing. Even if I get the Big-Goron sword, I'll probably keep using the Master Sword.
I like being able to use a shield to block if necessary.
One Strip! One Strip!I learned to hop around a lot with the Biggoron Sword, swapping to Master Sword when more defensive measures were necessary.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.finally got the giants wallet so now i can hold 500 rupees.
time to do ice cavern and the water dungeon so i can go back to fishing- the REAL reason to save the world.
But of course. Everyone knows saviors of the world are avid fishermen.
I used to play the GCN Prince of Persia trilogy a lot, so I probably could handle playing Oo T without a shield.

Hey, you needed one to beat Link's Awakening. Trade item sequence and all. XD
And to be fair... Fishing Rod. Twilight Princess. Hell yes.
You know, one thing I like about the obtainment of OOT's item upgrades is that the difficulty of getting one matches its tier value. Wanna get the Silver Sace? Good, just beat this simple minigame of diving to get Rupees. Wanna get the Gold Scale? Then you have to fish a 15-pound fish, which is far easier said than done. Wanna get the Big Quiver? Good, just beat this target minigame in Kakariko Village, almost a carbon copy of Market's. Wanna get the Giant Quiver? Then you have to score 1500 points in the Horse Archery minigame, and for that you're going to need some really good reflexesto aim at the center of each target as your horse moves you quickly through the course.
Of course, the exception is the Giant Seed Bag, for which you just need to shoot three times a wood target in Lost Woods.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300You actually gain the capacity upgrades in order no matter which ones you do first. So if you do the Gerudo archery mini-game first you'll be given the Big Quiver, and the Kakariko mini-game will then get you the Giant Quiver.
finished the water temple. that was fun. i like the lava lamp glow lines leading to the water level change plates.
every time i fight dark link, the fight seems worse and worse.
first time it was awesome, the second time it was frustrating, the third time it was...baffling, 4th time it was too easy (i used the megaton hammer) and ignoring however many times ive gone through it since this time it was a complete no effort boss.
i literally just stood still, targeted him, and pressed b 3 times which would, without fail hurt him (sometimes even quicker than that) and im really not sure whats going on with him. i guess i still like the concept but...the fight is just terrible.
The first time I beat Dark Link I brought full bottles of green potion and spammed Din's Fire.
I got so sick of him jumping on my sword, I just didn't care.
I think the next time I used the hammer. A lot cheaper.
I've noticed that if you don't target Dark Link, he's nowhere near as smart as he would be otherwise.
Kuro: Good point. I was talking from the perspective of the intended order of obtainment.
Also, is it normal to dream of The Wind Waker three nights in a row, even after having finished my most recent playthrough?
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Alirght. So now I have the Big-Goron sword, and have now entered the Gerudo Fortress.
Now, to Solid Snake it up.
I believe I currently have 60 Gold Skulltulas as well. Still got a lot of quests to do though, but I'm nearly through.
One Strip! One Strip!finised the shadow temple, and the child-part of the spirit temple.
gotta say, the shadow temple felt unusually bland this time around. not entirely sure why- usually its my favourite dungeon. bongo bongo was still pretty cool tho.
Well you do need the Broken Sword that Tarsen was talking about.
I actually always get the Biggoron Sword as soon as I become an Adult, before even doing the Forest Temple. Kills the first couple bosses really fast.
