Fair enough.

And while the previous thoughts on Zelda and reincarnation make sense, I just like the idea of her reincarnating (OOT Zelda did say Link's name felt familiar) too much, so I'm just gonna make it my personal canon. I find the idea of one character reincarnating through her own bloodline to be too fascinating...along with the fact that there are multiple timelines as well, so there are actually multiple reincarnations of Hylia throughout the ages.

Admittedly the Zelda II thing is a stumper, but considering her story has yet to really fit into any of the games we know, I'm wondering if there was a timeline merge at some point and she's actually a Zelda from one of those timelines who kinda got missed in the shuffle.

Still, this is all my personal opinions.

For whatever it is worth they both confirm to reincarnate in Hyrule Warriors, although it is an alternate continuity you can probably infer from the general cliff-notes of being canon to a certain point that this is one of the things they are going for regardless of continuity.

Of course Zelda continuity is shaky and prone to change on whims. As much as Zelda fans love continuity things are rarely plain as day canon or not.

We know that some Link mostly doesn't reincarnate. The only instance we can say that he for sure reincarnates is Skyward Sword, since he is a reincarnation of the original hero who wielded the Goddess Sword.

After that we know that ALTTP timeline Link doesn't reincarnate since he's the same Link up through Awakening.since they're all the same Link. We also know that that Link doesn't reincarnate into ALBW Link since it's heavily implied that the old man running Street Pass is the ALTTP Link, and Link can't exactly reincarnate if he isn't dead.

We also know that ALBW Link doesn't reincarnate to Zelda I Link since Zelda I Link is a random traveler hundreds of years after Triforce Heroes.

In the adult timeline we know that TP Link isn't a reincarnation of OOT Link since OOT's spirit is still around to pass on his techniques.

Finally, we know that WW Link isn't a reincarnation of OOT Link either since he no longer exists in that timeline, and the whole point was that the hero disappeared.

Now, there are some points where Link could be a reincarnation- ALTTP Link has the possibility of being OOT Link reincarnated, Four Swords Link could be Minish Cap Link reincarnated, FSA Link could be TP Link reincarnated, and Spirit Tracks Link could be WW Link reincarnated. We also know this is possible since at least one Link has reincarnated before, as mentioned above. However it is unlikely, if outright impossible, these Links are all the same (due to the impossibilities mentioned above as well as differences in personalities between the Links).

There's also the possibility that all the Links are the same Link, and they just have a shared spirit or whatever, time contrivances be damned. I do not subscribe to this theory, nor do I think there is any evidence behind it.

That said, the point of Link is to be a symbol- a name. I don't think they're supposed to be the same person, just the same representation of courage.

Where does A Link Between Worlds imply that Gramps is Link?

He wears Link's tunic, he has all of the equipment that he mentions having got over his own adventures, he has pointy ears like a hylian despite appearing in kakariko, he's heavily implied to be older than 80 years (matching up when ALTTP would've taken place)

Nothing's outright stated but it would hardly be the first time a previous Link appeared in the series, not to mention it would explain why he's so strong.

Right. So with a few days to got before I finally get Breath of the Wild, I'm still working on finishing Twilight Princess HD. I got nine hearts left; my plan is to get the next 7 (4 to fill the second last container) then the three left after that) and then take care of the next two in the palace of Twilight itself.

Is there any way to know if you've gotten all the hearts in an area already? It would save me a lot of trouble if I didn't have to search every place where a guide tells me they are. I'd rather go straight to where I know they are then waste time going to spots I've already hit.

I wish Breath of the Wild hadn't made the Gerudo a separate race, it ruins my idea of a future Link being the one male Gerudo born.

Wouldn't he look like a Gerudo if that were the case.

Well Malon's mom was a Gerudo so I guess not.

There's nothing wrong with him looking like a Gerudo. But I thought Link had to be a Hylian, which is why there's never been a Goron Link or a Zora Link.

Speaking of, I think BOTW is in its own timeline. There's too many disparate elements for it to be canon in any of the three concurrent timelines.

I guess if you stretch it could be post-Wind Waker, but having both Zora and Rito kills that I think.

[up]Apparently Breath of the Wild was made without any regards for the timeline and has no official place in it.

[up][up]Yeah, I think being Hylian is probably a required thing since he's Hylia's chosen champion so he must be from her chosen people or something.

The Gerudo have always been a separate race. Like, they're human, but they've always been a separate group of people in the way the Zelda series keeps track of that.

Random thing I'm doing: Listening to all the themes of the water levels with unique music and trying to decide my favourite. Here's the list, I think I got them all?

Angler's Tunnel, Water Temple, Great Bay Temple, Mermaid's Cave, Jabu-Jabu's Belly, Temple of Droplets, Lakebed Temple, Ancient Cistern, Swamp Palace, Divine Beast Vah Ruta

am I missing any?

Any thoughts on this question I asked?

I mean, it would seriously suck if I had to go through every spot where I know there to be heart pieces and double check if I got them already. That'd take way too long.

I don't think there's any method in TP to know if you have every Heart Piece in an area. There is a fortune teller in Hyrule Castle Town who gives hints on where remaining Heart Pieces are, though.

Double post: I tried the Fortune Teller, and she showed me a heart piece in the Snowfall mansion that I missed.

But when I went back to her, she said she couldn't see anything else. I get the feeling I'll need to continue with the story, but the next two heart pieces that I know of are in the Palace of Twilight, and even if I get them, I'll still need another five after that...unless you get a heart container from Zant. I can't really recall to be honest. It's been a long time.

If I am not mistaken you get a heart piece for challenging the Yeti woman to snowboard racing.

Beat her already. She was one of the ones I was missing before, but I've long since fixed that.

Edit: It turns out you do get a heart piece for beating Zant, so I'll be good. I just gotta get the two in the palace of Twilight and then I'll have them all.

I suggest having the sound turned up if possible. There's not a lot of background music outside of Hyrule Castle and a few other places, but there are plenty of sound cues that help you keep track of your surroundings.

Cool. I'll keep that in mind. Guess I should bust out Wolf Link soon as well.

Edit: Had my first encounter with a decayed robot guardian thingy. Got destroyed at first, but then remembered the shield parry from the instruction book (how would I have found out about that in-game) and wrecked him.

I'm gonna die so much in this game. It's not even funny.
