One more for you: Skull Kid to be playable in Hyrule Warriors Legends with Phantom Ganon being a boss.

Phantom Ganon is also in as a boss, and he uses an ocarina during battle (not to mention that a fairy is at his side).
What a misleadingly worded statement. Presumably it's Skull Kid with the fairy and ocarina. Maybe Tael finally gets to be in the spotlight, and be as irritating as his sister and her predecessor.

Unrelated: has anyone ever rescued the sages in ALBW in chromatic order?

[up] I haven't :o

Something I've discovered about both german versions of Link's Awakening (original and DX version) is that even there are some text differences. For example, when you get your Shield back from Tarin at the beginning, the original explains what a shield does, THEN goes on to explain how you use it, in two seperate lines. The DX version condenses this into one. Also, whenever you get a Piece of Heart, the original just says "A Piece of Heart! It belongs to you!", while the DX version explains how you can view your current Po H amount in the subscreen.

Speaking of which, I'm baffled as to why they didn't show your Piece of Heart amount in the subscreen in the original version of Link's Awakening. It would've fit in the middle of the ring showing which Instruments of the Sirens you already collected.

Also, something that I wish they would've kept for the DX version: the inventory scrolling in via the Status bar from the bottom. I think that looks way nicer than having it fade in and out like that.

edit: And wow, apparently Moyse was VERY enthusiastic about the new key-detecting feature of the Compass in the original version, because when you get the Compass, the textbox has a "And... NEW NEW NEW NEW!" right before the explanation of it. This got taken out and the description rewritten into a more "professional" style for the DX version.

Triforce Heroes is getting a beta test in Japan. Which means there's a decent chance one will happen in the west. Keep an eye out for that.

Finally played through MM3D, getting all but two Heart Pieces, which I can't really be arsed to find.

Like the changes to the boss battles, though Twinmold was somewhat annoying in his new form. Makes a change from unutterably boring, I suppose.

One thing that I like that took me a while to realise is that the sunken treasure jingle from WW is the intro of the last hours theme from MM.

Also WW is MM upside down, but I think that's just a small coincidence.

It also plays after you defeat a boss.

I just finished my 100% run of Majora's Mask 3D. So I'm finally finished beating every Zelda game.

It was pretty much as great as I was expecting, though the new save system made it much easier to get into than the original, where I only made it to Woodfall. I even did something close to a perfect cycle at the end before I fought Majora.

i think mm is probably the most interesting game in the franchise. not the best, possibly, but there's not another one like it.

the time limit changes everything about the way zelda traditionally works and gives the game a huge amount of weight.

It's also pretty cool for what it is under the hood- They managed to make a game that had a lot of that Zelda flair yet felt very different from Ocarina of Time... Using Ocarina of Time's engine and most of its character models. Creativity under pressure can make for truly fascinating works.

I sure said that!

The only real problem I had with MM was the save system, which the 3DS version seems to have fixed. That and the fact that there are only 4 dungeons, even if three of them are easily in my top 10 Zelda dungeons.

I'd argue there's eight dungeons, though- Deku Palace, Wintery Snowhead, The Pirate's Stronghold and Castle Ikana all are way more in-depth than is typical for minidungeons in the series, at least.

I sure said that!

maybe it's just me but I never felt that having "only" four dungeons was much of a complaint. more dungeons doesn't necessarily make for a better game. MM is a different game, that is much more about the content outside of the dungeons than in the dungeons themselves.

plus the dungeons in MM are amazing. Stone Tower is my favorite dungeon in the franchise, the place just oozes atmosphere. the only thing i don't care much for is twinmold, who's honestly kind of an underwhelming boss.

No, I wouldn't say those areas felt like particularly big minidungeons. Like, the Deku Palace wasn't very much bigger than Hyrule Castle in OoT. The snowy mountain isn't even a dungeon, it's an outside area.

That said, the 4 dungeons where some bigger, more complicated dungeons. I noticed a theme with their design where they all had a lot central-based design. Like instead of going a through a straight-forward path through the dungeon like most 3D Zelda dungeons, there was often one or two large center rooms you would keep going back to. I think that's why they felt more complicated, since you more often went through a circle of rooms back to the center and had to look at the map and figure out what locked door you need to go back to, or what new path you opened up.

in fact, i think this "less dungeons that are more complex" design philosophy might be worth exploring a bit more in future games.

[up][up][up][up]The 4 temples are so much more in-depth than those, though, and have bosses and stray fairies and such. They're much longer and more interesting mini-dungeons than a standard mini-dungeon but I still consider them mini-dungeons. And TBH I don't really like playing through any of those all that much.

Snowhead, Great Bay and Stone Tower Temples are three of my absolute favorites in the series, mostly because I like the complexity and atmosphere, and I think they're just well designed in general.

i think ikana castle is the best mini dungeon.

ikana in general was an amazing area imho.

It's actually been over a year since I last played MM but yeah, Ikana is just amazing in every way. Except for that stupid Bottom of the Well Gibdo fetch quest. Ikana Castle is cool but a couple of rooms there really annoy me, namely the room with the Forest Temple-like falling ceiling and that Skulltula room (god help you if you run out of arrows or magic) and I don't like how you have to bring a Powder Keg. Literally everything else about Ikana is just great.

The Powder Keg isn't that hard to figure out. A Garo even tells you to get one, if you bother talking to them.

I like the Garo. It was nice to get some hints to get around the area for once.

So it seems like that we can thank Club Nintendo surveys for the fact that Triforce Heroes will have online play. Who would have thought that those things actually contributed?

Well, at least according to this translation citing this website as their source.

As most of us can't read moonspeak, I can't confirm it either.

Ikana Canyon was really creepy the first time I played through. I kept the Garo Mask off because those Garos would just pop up right out of nowhere (typical Jump Scare, there).

But yeah, Ikana Castle was pretty neat.

Probably the official site for Tri Force Heroes.

When I was watching one of the Tri Force Heroes trailers, one of the areas vaguely reminded me of Lorule Castle from ALBW...
