Found this while looking at Brian Clevinger's site. Looks interesting... A free to play MMO shooter sounds like fun. I'm signed up on the forums for the beta, anyone else?

New info: someone has found a link that (in Chinese) says the beta will start in January or February of 2011, and will probably mainly be a USA beta. Chinese players will get a chance to play around April/May, so obviously it's not going to stay local.  ^Threadlink

According to Phobos, the community manager, this was referring to the "friends and family" beta. So nothing yet.

Hopefully this thread'll be more active when either more people decide to sign up for the beta or the game actually releases or something. Really would be cool to start some kind of troper guild.

Oh it is, it really is. They did some awesome stuff with the open world, and I love the mining set up. Crafting needs a bit of balancing, but it's beta, so of course. Pv P... hmm. I honestly haven't given it enough of a fair shake to say if it's good or bad. I mainly focus on the PvE elements.

Really, there's not much more to do in the open world than mine and shoot at the moment, but that's quite honestly enough. It's insanely fun to go up against the bugs and blast them to smithereens with a grenade launcher. Or use FUS RO HEAL, though they've mostly fixed that one sadly. Ah well.

It's got a lot of promise, and I can't wait to see where they go next. The Chosen are interesting enemies...

I had a chance to play the 20 minute beta demo at PAX East and sign up for the beta while I was there. It looks pretty cool and I'm looking forward to getting some more hands-on once I get back home. Not sure I am in the mood for another MMO but if it's free to play at the basic level then I don't see any harm in messing around with it for a while... or indefinitely, for that matter.

Downloading the beta now, woo! Hope I can run it. My system ain't too beefy.

First thing I heard of this was through Inside Gaming on this years PAX. Immediately went and made an account on their webpage. This sounds like a really cool game.

I'm more interested in Defiance, myself.

Defiance? That be that one with the whole "MMO affects the TV show" yes? Sound interesting. Still, I really like the Firefall set up so far. If you get a chance, I'd recommend trying both.

Also, I'm so happy I don't need to post five times in this thread to help keep it active anymore =D

I wouldn't mind having someone to help explain the interface to me — it's terribly obscure. If it goes live like that, people will be ragequitting all over the place. If you see me in game, callsign is Fighteer, obviously.

I had to agree to an NDA to get in, so it's still closed beta.

I keep noticing this game from time to time when I look around the internets, even though I'm searching for top-tier medics in TF 2. It looks nice; I'll see if I can get into beta.

I am a bit uncertain as to how much I can talk about without violating the NDA. My primary concern with the game as it stands is that there's very little handholding for newbies. I spent quite a lot of time trying to figure out how to use the interface and perform basic quest tasks. There is also a very limited number of quests that you can do at low levels without a team. These are things they'll have to fix before release if they want to attract anyone but hardcore players.

In fact, being in the closed beta gets me access to their forums, so I think I'll venture over there later and see what other people are saying.

Double post. According to a forum thread, the NDA is over as of this past Friday and we can talk about it all we want. They just haven't updated the terms of the beta, apparently.
