Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

Killed. They make the Warriors of Light fight and kill them so the key to Eureka can be completed.
I have a message from another time...No, I mean what did Noah give them?
Doga's gift was unparalleled magic and Unei's was mastery over the world of dreams.
Trans rights are human rights. The power of magic (which since they were students of magic to begin with, confuses me. Doga does have Meteor and founded a village of mages, so I guess it's legit) and command (I think? Maybe just responsibility for?) the world of dreams, respectively.

I have a message from another time...Noah really is an asshole.
You don't need to tell me that. I play FFXIV.
...Not the same Noah, mind, but if III Noah was anything like XIV Noah...

I have a message from another time...Does 14 take place in 3's world or something? I've heard Xande is in that game too.
XIV is a completely separate world but it has its own version of the Crystal Tower and the associated characters.

Trans rights are human rights.Yeah. In XIV, Xande was the first and last emperor of the ancient Allagen empire, and Noah is a famous archmagus from that same empire.
Thus far the only cameo character to actually be the same character is, of course, Gilgamesh.

I have a message from another time...@ FF Villain Talk:
Sephiroth is around but the point is that you don't actually see him for most of Disk 1. Rufus and his band of idiots are the ones onscreen while Sephiroth's mystique is established. The fact we just see proofs of his power - finding President Shinra dead, or the impaled Midgar Zolom - instead of him doing these things, works really well. Otherwise it's just a lot of chasing so when we finally do "catch him" and he reveals his evil plan, you're really curious what the hell he's up to.
Ultimecia sucks. Be better if R=U was canon.
Kuja is the best.
Vayne had much less presence than Cid and argulably Venat was the real Big Bad and our human villains were just her/its tools.

Venat openly rejects its status as puppet master because it was friend, equal and co-conspirators with Vayne and Cid and not some God with empty promises of power manipulating them. Also Cid was only part of the plot for Balthier's arc, Vayne was throughout the rest. Though I feel Vayne's problem is how disconnected he is from the emotional core of Vaan and Ashe's plight.
Kuja's last minute change of heart is still terrible.
Also I'm pretty sure Doga and Unei are still alive on as spirit guides after they are defeated anyway. Its them who send Sara, Desch, Alus and the Old Man to break the Dragon's Curse right?

No... No it wouldn't
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole! What is the logic behind the Rinoa and Ultimecia theory anyway? The fact that one has black wings and one has white wings?
I love how the Wizards Live Longer trope is so well established in people's minds that they will craft a theory which depends on it, even if the work in question doesn't even hint to said trope.

De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.It's dark and tragic therefore it's better.
I sure said that!In fact its the opposite. Adel was searching for a successor to carry on her work when she died when she kidnapped Ellone.
Because it makes the story "tragic"
and is based on the Assumption that A sorceress can live for a long time as long as they refuse to give up their powers. ignoring the fact that Edea gives her powers to Rinoa strictly because she was in proximity not because she could choose... since Ulty does the same thing when she's dying...
Sorceress Embodiment jumps ship when it feels like it.
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole! Its when a Sorceress is near death I think. Edea just recovered from her brush with death.
Squall apparently kicked Edea's ass so hard that Ulty's connection fried
Edea even says most of the time A Sorceress tries to choose their successor but examples like Rinoa do happen cause the powers have to go to someone

I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!I think it was Edea was near death so the Witch Embodiment passed on to Rinoa since she's the only potential vessel in the party. Edea later recovered but is no longer a Sorceress and can no longer be possessed.

Could a woman kill a sorceress while ensuring that there are no other candidates nearby in order to acquire awesome magical powers?
I ask because I only played up to NORG's first appearance.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.I'd assume so based on Ulty's Death, She clearly didn't want to give her powers up but they left her for the most avaible host.
Granted this raises the Question of how Edea didn't figure this out right at the start and she clearly still has her powers when she joins the party.
Though you could argue due to Edea Not dying, Her powers remained in her body its just the source of them were gone.
Kinda like if you learn a spell from Magicite permanently, removing the magicite doesn't take the spell away.

I'm A Pervert not an Asshole! If I remember right, only certain women are compatible with the power. Rinoa and Ellone are compatible but Quistis and Selphie are not for example.
Edea isn't a Sorceress anymore when she joins the party, she has to use Para Magic like the rest of the party. The only power she has left is her Limit Break which may just be a special case like Quistis's Blue Magic and Seifer's Fire Cross.

The problem is we're assuming it has a limited range...
for all we know said woman kills Witch in the woods... but is not a proper vessel
Said powers rise into the sky and beeline to a suitable host, regardless of Distance and suddenly some Maid is struck by 'Lightning'
Except thats using a gameplay aspect to explain it, Edea doesn't act like she's lost her powers up until she realizes Rinoa has the Embodiment
which doesn't happen till after you've gone through Esthar

I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!
What did Unei and Doga get again?
