As someone who checks the TLP quite a bit, there are tons of new trope drafts I've seen which I'm pretty shocked that we missed. Granted, there are also a lot of them that I can understand why they were only newly-launched/drafted, since they're fairly recent and/or obscure concepts, but there have been many times when it's a trope I've seen a million times yet it somehow only just got a page.
A few of my own launched tropes (mainly Sinister Swine, Intelligent Primate, and Abuse Discretion Shot) are ones I drafted in part because I noticed how common they were, yet didn't have trope pages yet.
Cold turkey's getting stale. Tonight I'm eating crow. Most of my own tropes are niche, but I'm surprised to be the first to consider things like Gross Gum Gag, Sudden Soundtrack Stop, Dream Episode, Girls vs. Boys Plot, etc.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI was surprised that Jinx Game and Five-Second Rule didn't exist until now
You gonna eat that?
Spinning off from this thread somewhat.
Goofy Buckteeth is one that I'm surprised didn't exist until last year, given it's an very common aspect of character design. Stereotypical Nerd is another no-brainer that didn't exist until 2022, as it was diffused between many other tropes (Geek Physiques, Nerd Glasses, Dork in a Sweater, etc.) that didn't have one archetype trope to unite them all.
