Goblin Slayer is the result of its author hating Re:Monster. This is actually true, he said so in an interview. [lol]

Redo of Healer is way way worse than Re:Monster is. Filler's incorrect.

As many of have said Re:Monsters' problems stem entirely from the protagonist's hypocrisy. Its an entertaining enough series to a point. I personally don't think it should have been adapted. The way the story is told is half of what makes it interesting since you don't get first person prospective writing in manga very often and that'll almost certainly be lost in adaptation. Also there's the shit Rou does towards the middle beginning of the story that just sours the whole thing.

Redo of Healer is honest about being edgelord. The MC of Re: Monster commits many of the same atrocities and more, but the story paints it as good and just.

So I stand by what I said. Redo of Healer is better than Re: Monster.

(But do not watch either show)

Personally I think Redo of Healer and Goblin Slayer are way worse trash than Re:Monster is but all three of them are pretty bad.

I don't think Redo or Re:Monster should have ever gotten an anime adaptation.

Decided to take up Henjin no Salad Bowl for something light and for stuff about Gifu, just in case I decide to visit!
Also decided to not take up Girls Band Cry after reconsideration.

First Impressions

  • Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru:: Stories focused around playing games excited me, but they're rarely ever done well, and unfortunately Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru is not an exception. The animation is almost as robotic as the exposition, and if the first game is any indication, we shouldn't expect truly brilliant moves to be played. I'm into this subgenre so I'll keep up with this, and I can at least take solace that this is at least a stronger effort than previous takes. Looking at you, Liar Liar. Continuing.
  • Konosuba S3:: A couple minutes in and I'm already hearing the familiar banter between Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin and Darkness. It's like these lovable goofballs never left. The animation quality seems to have gotten an upgrade all-around, but I'm thankful they preserved the kooky animations for the kooky moments. Gotta go a little off-model to really sell those jokes. Seems like our party will be bringing their antics to the royal palace. I'm suuure that's gonna go well. Definitely continuing.

Sorry for the double post… I see someone edited the UM page to write that the series had first been published on Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2012, but in the afterworld of the first volume, the author says she first published it on her personal website in 2008… which is it?

Shumatsu train doko he iku?. So, this is one of the more unhinged Mizushima shows. It was even more acid trippy than P Vs hinted butb may be interesting with this setting.

P.S.: Seriously, some idiots already fear 5G towers and you use a similar conspiracy for the premise?

Ookami to Koushinryou: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf. The remake started great. It loks really pretty and they did not replace Yarei with Chloe this time. Also that opening scene with Holo and Myuri. Some people complain about music but I personally like it. And we have 25 eps announced, lets see how much they will adapt this time.

Shuumatsu Train Doko e Iku?: I was expecting it to be weird, but not that weird. Fantastic

7th Prince: Has some seriously impressive moments, but it's in service of a rather tired story... and you can see it running out of steam even as the first episode progresses. Skip

Initial Reactions
Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru: I'm gonna have to side with Filler for this. That first game definitely feels pretty eh, but overall, it was a straightforward start!
Shuumatsu Train: Do you like trains? Do you like the Seibu Ikebukuro Line? I bet some of y'all found it odd that this all happened because of some tech asshole wanting to propagate 7G only to reach the point of apocalype where humans turn into animals even though it can be argued that we are already reaching that level... As a bit of a train station geek myself, I will get myself invested in this trip to Seibu Ikebukuro! My one complaint is that they started at Agano when the end of the line was supposed to be Seibu Chichibu, but then again, Chichibu was likely taken by other series anyway...
Dai-nana Ouji: Lloyd feels like a sadomasochist magic-loving child on first impression, so I expect this to get pretty chaotic...
Dekisoko: It was so normal that I got fatigue, and I have to see the first episode twice to really get what was going on. It also airs pretty late, so it's harr to concentrate. Luckily, and I just found out now, starting from the 2nd episode onward, it goes to some streamkng sites a week early, so YEY I can see EP 2 straightaway!

7th prince gets weird. Just as a warning. I eventually dropped it when they turned the comedy up and the action down after about 100 chapters. There is a compelling story here but, like, you need to be able to deal with the fact that the series is shotabait.

[up] Huh, that is curious, since I also read around 100 chapters before "pausing" it, but my problem was that I didn't find it very funny anymore, since jokes started to feel repetitive, and I wasn't finding the current "serious" arc to be interesting. Really gives some perspective to how 2 people can see differently the same series.

I'm not a big comedy guy, I need some level of action to go with any series I follow. So when all the action pretty much drains out for primarily comedy I tend to bounce.

A big part of why I never even bothered with series like Mission: Yozakura Family (or Unwanted Undead Adventurer) is because they were introduced to me as just comedy series. There are very few series with no action that I've ever given a chance (like Iris Zero). Its probably why I'm able to sit through so much isekai slop without being mad about it. I like me some dumb silly action.

First Impressions

  • One Room, Hiatari Futsuu, Tenshi-tsuki:: No matter the era there will always be guys wishing for cute girls to fall out of the sky, and that's why anime like this keep getting made. Towa is a literal angel and that's why she's impossibly nice, and she will care for the bland MC from the bottom of her heart. It's insubstantial fluff. The cutesy wish fulfillment is a little too much, even for a romcom sap like me. Three episode rule.
  • Shuumatsu Train Doko e Iku?: I wish it had let the quirkiness stew a little more instead of leaning on expository chatter, but that's nitpicking. The dialogue flowed quite naturally, and let's be real, they do have to explain what's going on. The important part is that it is unrepentantly weird, and the main question is how much weirder it's going to get from here on out. Every new place they stop is bursting with 7G reality-bending possibilities, and while they could maintain the CGDCT-ish tone throughout, this seems like an anime that would love being more experimental. Whatever the case, I'm excited to be taken along for the ride! Definitely continuing.
  • Spice And Wolf: Grinning the entire time I was watching the premiere. Between the detailed background art and atmospheric soundtrack, it's like Passione filtered the show through my rose-tinted glasses and turned that nostalgia into reality. Holo herself has become an even more arresting presence with the additional flourishes afforded to her movements. The opening sequence plus the return of Yarei also suggests this will be a more complete and faithful adaptation of the novels. Spice and Wolf is back, ladies and gentlemen, and it is beautiful. Definitely continuing.

First Impressions

  • Bartender - Glass of God: I am concerned that the two women were being asked to search for a bartender by their company, but weren't getting reimbursed for it. Anyway, I was chuckling throughout the episode, which I don't think should be the expected reaction? But how can I not snicker, when they're literally searching for a "Glass of God". The two office ladies also having near encyclopedic knowledge of alcohol was amusing too. The tone is closer to a typical Food Porn anime than I thought it would be, and that's not a bad thing. Certainly worth a swig. Continuing.
  • Maou no Ore ga Dorei Elf: The MC buying his romantic interest is a terrible start to a love story, and uhh it doesn't get better from there. Not even because it violates basic morals, but because it violates "show, don't tell" in every way possible, from narrating something that happened in the preceding scene, to monologuing about obvious things. Then there's really only one joke— Zagan says something vaguely evil because he's socially awkward I guess, while Nephy just keeps thinking she's about to be tortured/killed. Yawn. Trying until next episode.
  • Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai: I think Hananoi is supposed to be the sweet, perfect boyfriend material, but from my point of view, he's too obsessed and overbearing. It's honestly a little creepy, the dude is ringing alarm bells in my head. Hotaru is fine, but that's about it. She doesn't stick out in any way, save for the golden voice of Kana Hanazawa. I guess I feel a little sorry for her, it feels like she got clobbered into feeling something for Hananoi Three episode rule.

No your reading of Hananoi is correct, he’s not a dangerous person by any means but the series absolutely criticizes how he handles his romances both in the past and present. He does get away with a few things he had no business getting away with on account of Hotaru being understanding but I think it balances it well enough.

Initial Reactions:
Bartender: It was a normal, chill start. Already wondering what Ryuu's deal is!
WIND BREAKER: It's my most anticipated anime for the cour ... and BOY IT FUCKING DELIVERED!! It looked on par with JJK! It was mainly 1-to-1 with an added intro, but it was super satisfying!! I'm so not ready for what's to come later!!
Henjin no Salad Bowl: After the high that was Wind Breaker, this ended up being a pretty relaxing watch. Will I end up loving Gifu more after this? Probably...

[up][up] That's good then, I'll wait and see how they further explore Hananoi's disposition.

First Impressions

  • Wind Breakers: Sakura Haruki wants to be judged for his strength and not his looks, which is why he decides to enroll in the den of miscreants, Furin High School. Now, delinquents scrapping with each other is a tried and tested formula, but there's nothing wrong with sticking to the basics. The revelation that the Furin delinquents function as the town's protectors does put a fresh spin on this type of story, and it shakes Haruki to the core as he's used to being treated like scum. It's amusing to see him being tsundere about it. The production also popped off for this one; it is hands down the best looking premiere of the season so far. And as thuse mentioned, the fights would not have looked out of place in something like JJK. Definitely understands that kickass should always look kickass. Continuing.
  • Henjin no Salad Bowl: Princess from another world escapes from a rebellion via reverse isekai, and gets picked up by a private detective. It's got the same charm as the author's previous works— quirky interactions between quirky characters, but this time with a sprinkling of magic. Sousuke and Sarah already have charming banter, but the real appeal of this series will probably show when more weirdos are tossed into the salad bowl. Continuing.

Salad Bowl: This isn't funny. Letting a macrophile design the OP was interesting choice, though

Wind Breaker: Well, the anime is incredibly impressive. Not really sold on the story, but definitely giving another episode or two, just for the fights

First Impressions

  • Astro Note: Um wow can we get more of that opening sequence? Because a 90s style space opera with film grain would be right up my alley. That isn't to say the actual meat of the episode wasn't delectable though, because I ate it right up. The art style coupled with the sharehouse full of eccentric tenants radiated pure retro anime romcom vibes, where the romance is more a pretext for the comedy. Mira being an alien princess suggests we've barely scratched the surface yet, and I am looking forward to more hijinks.l from here on out. Especially when the alien technology figures more into the plot. Definitely continuing.
  • High Speed Etoile: These cars aren't running at 500 km/h, despite what the narration may tell you. And, err, that was my only takeaway from the first episode. It was like watching a real F1 race— I fell asleep a few minutes in. Dropped.
