For a character to have a Self-Demonstrating article, they should have a distinctive voice. Someone like Fawful (Mario & Luigi) springs to mind for me.

Can shapeshift (probably)
Yeah, I think they can be done right (Beavis And Butthead and Lord of Games are ones I really like), but too often they don't reflect the character's actual personality and have messy-as-hell descriptions. I somewhat unofficially gave up on some SD pages I was planning to make, since I was worried I'd just be replicating those problems.

I once proposed a unique kind of SD page... one that catalogues tropes for "All My Circuits", with Bender making frequent, Fan Myopic edits to the page that are specially highlighted as being from him, Bender.
I should probably make a draft for that sometime soon.

I think an SD page for Castiel from Supernatural could be fun. I’ve never seen the show, but I know from Pop-Cultural Osmosis that he has a memorably blunt, stoic, and grumpy-but-innocent way of speaking.
