A Terminator anime from Skydance and Production I.G is coming to Netflix.

Production I.G seems like a neat fit to animate a show like this, given their history with cyborgs.

Aww, geez, can't we just let Terminator rest? We've had two amazing classic movies, a really good crossover with Robotcop in the comics, and then a pile of shit that's best ignored.

At best, this will be a retelling of the first two films — which still risks being redundant, because the movies are still there. At worst, this will yet another attempt to extend the franchise, because that's worked out so well previously.

I'm mean, that Terminator game from a couple of years ago was pretty good, so there's still some life in the franchise I think.

[up][up] I didn’t hate 3 and Salvation (though I was a teen when I last saw them), but after that they clearly had nowhere to go…

Don’t know what to think of this project honestly. It could be good… if they don’t pointlessly rehash the same story like the last two did (and even 3, to an extent).

They need to just let the franchise die a peaceful death. Terminator is really a pretty thin, basic concept that doesn't have that much room for expansion

Honestly, it's kinda funny how Genisys and Dark Fate were both clear attempts to try and revitalize the franchise and make a trilogy of movies when 3 did that. And Salvation followed through. All we really needed was a fifth movie finish the story those movies set up. Have the humans actually win the war and show the time travel from the future's perspective. But no, we needed to start an entirely new story trying to grasp at an audience that just didn't care anymore.

As for this, yeah. It's probably just going to be another rehash of the first two movies.

[up] Yeah. Doesn't mean it'll be bad — you can do things in anime you can't do in Live Action — but they do have their work cut out for them.

That said, if a US studio could pull off the seemingly-impossible task of making a good live-action franchise based off an anime, then maybe a Japanese studio can make a good anime based off a live-action franchise.

Jesus freaking Christ.

Somebody euthanize this pathetic, outdated franchise already.

Kingdom Hearts, Star Wars, Resident Evil, and Ghostbusters weren't allowed to die. These movies still make money so unfortunately the franchise won't be going anywhere.
