Something Old, Something New: The Collaborative Timeline Game!

Basically, the premise of this is that y'all suggest 1 to 5 events, and I will integrate them into a coherent timeline, with our current timeline as a baseline.

You can submit 3 types of events:

1. Something Old - the events of a entire or part of a work of fiction.

2. Something New - A completely original event. These can be as crazy and frivolous as you want them to be.

3. Something Changed - like Something Old, but you change the events of how the work of fiction goes before and/or after you place it down. These changes can be as minor or as frivolous as you want.

You can make these events happen in any year you want, and you can mix and match between the three types!

Make sure to add the classifications of SO, SN, and/or SC depending on the event in parentheses after the number.

Example: 1. (SO) Groundhog Day

2. (SN) During the Civil War, copies of Shrek 2 rain from the sky

3. (SC) Friends, but in 2004, Ross, the largest of the friends, eats the others.

Does it need to be in the same year?

They can happen in any year you want!

Does it need to be canonically correct?

Don't worry about it. Also, you'll need a real place for Ash to get his Pikachu.

Ash gets Pikachu in 2001 in Tokyo (is this what you mean by real place?), Sirius Black met Toriel in 2030, and the Detective Conan in 2016

2001 - Ash Ketchum gets his Pikachu, which is a type of Pokémon, a type of beast created by the Nintendo Company and Game Freak in 1996. Most people often domesticate them, but some, like Ash, often travel the world, fighting other Pokémon to be the best.

2016 - Shinichi Kudo and his friend Ran Mori solve crimes around Japan and in the world of Pokémon as detectives Conan and Zeno.

2030 - Sirius Black, the last in a line of fabled wizards, falls through a hole in Mt. Ebott and meets the kindly Toriel. They start a relationship and are currently married.

2006 - (SO) Serial killer John Kramer, known as the Jigsaw Killer, is killed when one of his test subjects, a man named Jeff Denlon, slashes his throat with a saw in a meat factory.

2015 - (SN) The population of California, United States, goes unconscious all at once after a 10.0 magnitude earthquake shakes their area. The earthquake was only felt by California; nearby states like Nevada didn't feel it. The population was then found in a large glass ball going down a steep mountain in Africa. No one knows how they got there.

2004 - (SC) SpongeBob and Patrick are killed when they dehydrate under a heat lamp located in a gift shop called Shell City, causing Plankton to take over Bikini Bottom and Mr. Krabs to be executed by King Neptune via incineration.

1983 - Michael Afton kills his brother Evan at Fredbear’s Family Diner after letting the Fredbear animatronic bite off Evan’s frontal lobe. He is subsequently arrested.

1989 - Laura Palmer is found dead in Twin Peaks, WA, a small town with big secrets, leading Dale Cooper on a grand adventure. Also in this year, Joel Robinson of the Gizmonic Institute is sent into space at the Satellite of Love, forced to riff on cheesy movies with his robot friends.

1990 - A 14-year old girl who witnessed paranormal events at Camp Tekanaskwake in Ulster County, NY records a 20-minute VHS recording her experiences, proving the existence of the supernatural, becoming famous.

1993 - Jurassic Park, an amusement park on an island, founded by scientists who found out how to clone long-extinct animals such as dinosaurs. The opening doesn’t go well, and it is abandoned.

1999 - Volée Airlines Flight 180 crashes, killing everyone.

During a charity concert, Ariana Grande is found lip-synching, facing backlash. A second park of dinosaurs is made in another island known as Jurassic World. Aiko, a velociraptor hybrid combined with the DNA of a human and several small species, becomes one of the main attractions, even becoming the mascot.

2025 - On Conan’s new livestream show, Paul Rudd announces the end of his Mac and Me gag. Also in this year, The Muppet Show is rebooted with a bigger Muppet Theater.

(SN) In New York 2025, under pressure from advertisers for his budding TV Show, Paul Rudd does not show the Mac and Me clip on Conan’s new livestream show.

(SC) During a charity show for the victims of the California Incident, Ariana Grande is found out to be lip-synching due to blowing out her voice. She faces backlash which she puts onto her next album of material.

(SO) Joel Robinson gets shot in space by The Mads in 1989, spending his time in the Satellite of Love, he's forced to riff on cheesy movies with his robot friends, Cambot, Gypsy, Tom Servo, and Crow.

(SN) In 2025, The Muppets get a reboot of The Muppet Show, bringing their variety to a bigger, improved Muppet Theater, and invite popular celebrities from nowadays to be on their show.

(SC) In 1990, Homer Simpson successfully jumps the Springfield Gorge by accident, making it along the way, he quickly becomes famous because of this.

1983 - (SO) Evan Afton is killed when his brother, Michael, places him into Fredbear's mouth. His tears short-circuited the animatronic, causing Fredbear's mouth close in on his head, crushing his skull and biting off part of his head.

2023 - (SN) The entire country of Canada begins to spin like a fast carousel, throwing many Canucks out of the country and causing mass vomiting from the speed. It stopped spinning after a day.

1999 - (SC) Volée Airlines Flight 180, a flight scheduled to go to Paris, explodes mid-air due to a malfunction. No one survived the explosion and one person was killed on the ground when the landing gear crashed through a bar and crushed him into a pulp.

(SO) - In 1993, scientists discover how to clone long-extinct animals such as dinosaurs, opening a a park in a remote island to show them off. It doesn't end well, and the park is ultimately abandoned.

(SN) - In 2018, a new species of fish with a distinctive pink coloration and ability to inhale prey is discovered in the sea of Japan. It is named Hoshino kirby, after the famous Nintendo character.

(SC) - In 2015, a second attempt at making an extinct animal park worked and is now public. To attract new audiences, a hybrid containing DNA of Velociraptor, human, and various other species such as housecats and cuttlefish, among others was created. This new hybrid, nicknamed "Aiko", quickly became fast friends with the scientists.

Something old - On the 13th of April 2009, the planet Earth is bombarded by a series of meteors. The incident kills off most of the world and leaves only a handful of survivors.

Something new - In 2004, a rumor begins circling the Internet revolving around an anthropomorphic dog roaming the streets of various cities in the American Midwest. Said rumors continue circling the Web for a few years.

Something changed - In 1990, a fourteen-year-old girl discovers paranormal activity near a summer camp in Ulster County, New York. She survives the encounter with the activity. Using a twenty-minute-long VHS tape, she convinces the world that supernatural events do indeed exist and she becomes a worldwide icon.
