It's going to be interesting, representation-wise, how this deals with the elephant in the room of the narrative (they're both black people from a embattled childhood but one went to jail and one to the lap of luxury). It could easily fall into some "model minority" talking points, but I'm hoping it doesn't.
Also, thinking back to real life parallels (as the franchise is semi-fond of doing) I think this one might be loosely inspired by Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins, going by the "became a boxing master in prison" backstory.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I mean, most of the staff are POC, so I'm sure they can reach the topic without going that route.
Every time someone claims to be realistic is a dour cynic in disguise.I like how the actors both play major Marvel villains
A boxing match between Erik Killmonger vs Kang the Conqueror of all characters
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yeah, people noticed that too.
Who could be next? Clubber Lang Jr.?
Every time someone claims to be realistic is a dour cynic in disguise. The movie was really good. Not gonna talk about one particularly distracting element—I don't mean Rocky's absence—and just say it was well-choreographed and well-written though. I'm wishing I hadn't missed it in the theater.
While I heard a lot about Rocky franchise, the first Rocky movie is the only one I watched so far.
I'm actually an amateur boxer myself and almost done with the both seasons of Megalo Box, so naturally I'm going to the Creed movies as well...but got a slight problem.
I know I'm definitely gonna watch Rocky II and maybe III, but I'm not sure the other later Rocky films are worth watching.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Got an idea for what Creed IV can do if they bring back Stallone. I'll leave it at that though for the time being.
The Heavyweight Collection has all six Rocky movies for only 30 euros. I'm also seeing a Rocky/Creed collection for 65 euros. That's 5 euro a movie for the first set, and 7 per movie for the second. For that price, you might as well just get all of them if you are a fan already.
Optimism is a duty.Don't how much the five film collection cost back in 2004, but been buying the rest of the movies on DVD ever since though.
Yeah, the only Rocky film you can skip is 5 since nothing from that film really comes up in Rocky Balboa or the Creed films.
And on a side note, RIP Burt Young (Paulie)
Same here.
Funny how we're at nine now and four more means thirteen and The Rye or the Kaiser comes into play too. Haha.
Hope the rights situation with Stallone gets a good resolution soon too. Something he and Winkler can both agree or compromise on.

First trailer for Creed III is out, and it looks like they're finally moving away from Rocky.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.
