I came across the UsefulNotes.Byzantine Empire page, and it has a few examples (such as the Tevinter Imperium from Dragon Age) that aren't literal depictions of the empire, but are (or at least suggested to be) inspired by it. Given that examples on Useful Notes pages are otherwise lists of literal depictions of the subject in question, is this going too far beyond its scope? After all, you don't see examples of Nazi-influenced fictional groups in UsefulNotes.Nazi Germany, but Putting on the Reich.

Well, taking inspiration from Real Life things is a trope but we can't have such a trope page as it would be swamped by coincidence examples. Given that we primarily discuss storytelling, listing examples of how the Real Life thing discussed in the Useful Notes page is used in-story seems OK to me.
