Not sure if there is a trope for this, but I wonder if there is a trope in which a character's handiness depends on if their hand is facing toward the audience.

For example, a character is able to write with their non-dominant hand in one scene, because the animator didn't want to obscure the character's hand when animating (it doesn't have to be animation, but animation is the first thing that comes to mind).

This image shows what I mean in that if Jerry were to write with his right-hand, he would be obscuring the tic-tac-toe board (also known as noughts and crosses)

The two links below are from The Ghost and Molly Mcgee episode 8: Talent show. Libby walks from right to left (from the audience's point of view), picks up the pen, and writes with her left hand (the hand facing the audience).

When it switches to the front, the pen is still in her left-hand, but that's likely due to keeping with continuity (She was writing with her left-hand, so the pen should still be in her left-hand when it switches to the front).

However, if she walked from the right to the left side of the screen, then would the animator have made her right-handed so her right-hand is facing the audience? I can't say.

In short, the character doesn't switch hands because their dominant hand is injured. They don't switch hands because they are cross-dominance or ambidextrous. They switch hands because of the animator.

Just something that comes to mind, and I wonder if people have noticed better examples that come to mind (even better if animators have admitted to it).

^ A lot of those deal with non-handiness (for example, eyepatches switching sides). Maybe have a Sub-Trope that only deals with handiness?
