I tried asking this on the draft itself, but haven't received any responses so I thought I'd ask here.
I have a draft at the TLP to cover the trope when a supernatural being keeps haunting or appearing to a certain character only for the character to learn that the being was never malicious and (typically) wanted to warn them of something or get help. Think Arrival and The Sixth Sense.
In collecting examples, it became clear to me that the majority reveal major spoilers for the story given that the beings not being malicious either is the point (in a Dark Is Not Evil moral of the story) and/or because now the trueBig Bad gets revealed. Looking at Spoilered Rotten that would be something like a combo between Type B and C.
