So far it was a good 1st episode which adapted chapter 1 and 2 of the manga except for some changes like replacing Stg 44 with G43 and introducing the Commander much earlier than the manga.
And they put clothes back on in the G&K dummies.
Anyways. How are spoilers from the game and/or manga be handled here?
Me thinks they flexed a bit too hard with the OP
Seriously, the OP looks so good. It's like a different studio handled it. Actually, I don't know if OP and ED animations are usually outsourced.
We should probably stick any manga/game spoilers behind spoilers. I personally don't care, though.
Iirc another studio did the OP and ED since a user at the Girls Frontline reddit explained they were hired as some of the foreign outsource help to do the animation.
The OP was definitely heavily outsourced, I think beyond what's normal, but I have no idea what percent of their budget they spent on it. It's really more different in style from than rest of the show than better-animated
I'd definitely argue a "better" style (or at least "more fitting"), what drew me into GFL were the awesome character designs and artwork by infukun and lowlight. While detail has to be lost in the transition to animation for obvious reasons, I thought the OP did a better job of retaining that stylishness of the character art, and that's a very important part of a visual adaptation, I feel.

Now that was unexpected. They actually covered chapter 1 of the game. Showing Gentiane's first day on the job, earning her cred as a T-Doll whisperer. And then seeing her girls get blown up.
The manga skipped that, going straight to what appears is going to be episode 3.
Hmmm so we’re mainly going to be following Gentiane and her dolls? Or probably switch perspectives to M4A1 every now and then?
Mikako Komatsu tries airsoft. Warner Japan streamed this to promote GF.
Dat headpat for MP 5. So awesome.
The action was good this episode. M4A1 put up a good fight against the high end Doll.
Didn't expect it to turn into DBZ for a moment there. The jank was hilarious but not unwelcome.
Looks like they are following the manga loosely while putting back stuff from the game. The manga had M 4 A 1 beat Executioner alone, collapse and woke up at Gentiane's base some time later.
Saw the list.
Interesting that Chambers is playing against type as Soppo.
Was hoping Elizabeth would be AK-15 instead of Executioner... (That's if the former shows up at all).
Episode 5: The AR-15 rescue mission doesn’t go as I expected. Certainly intriguing that AR-15 was able to hack the SF network, which is a cheat considering how much the SF rely on numbers. This makes AR-15 a highly important player in the game, which seems to either set her up as a traitor/sleeper agent, or possibly be a prime target by the SF.
Really enjoyed episode 6. UMP45 being a teasing asshole to 416 and M16 is fun to see.
Pick up your weapon, even if you hesitate, you cannot give up. Hold on to your ideals, even if you struggle, you cannot waver.Looks like those two have something going on.
Good fight between M16 and UMP45. UMP sucks though, she apparently only went after M16 because of a personal beef. Her handler should be reining her in better.
How interesting that M4A1 is tinkering with eyeballs. I’m not sure where that falls on the robot morality scale.
The show is still setting up these mysteries, and I’m curious if it will be able to stick the landing or those hints will remain as vague nothings. Gentiane at least smells something fishy.
The eyeball thing is a reference to SOP II. It's not really shown in the anime, but she has a thing for ripping enemies apart and collecting body parts from their remains.
Pick up your weapon, even if you hesitate, you cannot give up. Hold on to your ideals, even if you struggle, you cannot waver.Oh, thanks. I guess AR-15 has things to say about rooming with SOP-2 haha. Now that I think about it, maybe AR-15 is also cannibalizing enemy parts and that’s how she seized the SF network in the previous episode.
Episode 7: Hrmmm. The Sangvis Ferri aren’t very threatening at all, so it’s hard to feel a sense of accomplishment whenever the Griffin girls take one of their Ringleaders down.

Episode 8: Seriously, what's up with AR-15?
I didn't realize the dolls had civilian jobs, so to speak.
It's not exactly a spoiler; some of the game's character profiles explicitly state they used to work in the civilian sector. FNC used to be a chocolatier◊, G36 was an actual maid◊, and so on.
This is why some SF Ringleaders insult Griffin Dolls by saying they're made from civilian stock: because they are. Griffin T-Dolls are basically the robot equivalent of technicals.

Putting up the thread for the anime version of Girls Frontline.
Also, the Girls' Frontline page is here.
