MultiVersus - WarnerMedia Platform Fighter

Ooh, that's quicker than I expected. If they're showing off a new trailer, I do hope for at least 5 new characters, a couple new stages, and some new gameplay modes. I know people have been wondering if the datamined dungeon and story modes will be added eventually. Personally, I wanna see if they implement the tournament mode, since that was also in the datamines.

Interesting, I do remember Townsville being leaked, but Dexter's Lab kinda threw me for a loop. I don't think Dexter had been leaked in any capacity over the past year, and we've known at least over 20 different leaked characters.

Other than the stages, this feels like a very underwhelming trailer. Of course at the very least we are get more in the coming weeks, but for the supposed hype, i just don't see it.

And no new characters? ballsy, that's what people wanna see.

Btw, the new banners has balloons of Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain. I believe those and WB water tower are coming.

May 28th is still a while away, but hopefully it'll be well worth the wait. The Townsville and Dexter's Lab stage concepts look super cool (and I like how they imply that not only the PPG but also Dexter may be added).

The game looks pretty great since its revamp so far. I'm curious about how the PvE mode will play out, and I hope we get a couple of new character announcements between now and the re-launch date. I feel like it would be tacky if they have this development update and then say absolutely nothing else until May 28th.

I imagine the Powerpuff Girls are a lock by this point. As for Dexter's Lab, I am torn between the obvious Dexter, the funny Dee Dee, and the obscure Monkey.

This game doesn't really do obscure, we have Black Adam as a shill pick, not to mention lebron. They might have changed their tune now hopefully, but i have my reservations

Gleamium can now be earned in-game.

Finally, that's good. Means now you can have a chance to actually work towards buying some skins for your preferred characters.

Since this seems to be more of a complete release (the game was technically more like a beta when it first came out) presumably they arr going to announce new characters as it comes closer to release date.

Hopefully there's plenty new characters.

Alright, so we pretty much have soft confirmations for Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Lab, and Animaniacs representation. Though the Big Ben-looking tower is kinda stumping me. I don't remember seeing that in the Townsville concept art, so it can't be that.

I’ve seen some people theorize that it might be the clock tower at ACME Looniversity, but that’s the most I’ve seen so far.

Had to double check, and the ACME Looniversity clocktower definitely doesn't match, as the clock on that tower is within a WB shield. The clocktower on the MVS banner look more like a normal clocktower, hence why I called it Big Ben-like.

That aside, I am glad that the battle pass and gleamium situation is gonna be more like Fortnite. I remember people asking for that all beta long.

This trailer does not give me a good feeling about this game.

This is how I expect the launch will go. There will be no new content, because they only just finished the concept art. The PvE will be a glorified multi man smash. The rollback code will turn out to only work when just the devs are playing it, and will go to hell the moment it connects to a server with more than a 100 people on it.

Three months later, the new stages will release, but there won’t be any no new characters, because making stages is soooo time consuming, guys. Then they’ll confirm that the Yakko and Brain balloons are just cameos, and not a sign of future characters, because having a cameo is the next best thing, right?

After two and a half years of drip feed content, they’ll finally have the 30 characters they promised in the founders pack, though half of the new characters will be lame promos mandated by the Warner Bros PR team. Then two days later, WB will pull the plug on the whole thing, because some exec somewhere expected it to make Fortnite money.

That how this whole debacle makes me feel about the future of this game.

I've seen one of the fan Discords theorize that it could be alluding to Ben 10, since apparently Big Ben shows up in a couple episodes. Dunno enough about that franchise to know if that's a big deal or not, also have no clue of any other shows that would've had it as a prominent figure.

Because yeah it does very much look like Big Ben and that feels like a very weird detail to just throw in without it being some kind of reference. Like having the Hollywood sign say "Multiversus" is one thing but that's just weird.

The Hollywood sign could probably be a part of the WB Studio Lot stage, even though the real WB Studios is in Burbank if I remember correctly.

Multiversus confirmed for a Japanese release at launch!

Considering the steam leak also had Chinese and Korean language options, there's a chance Mainland Asia might see a release as well.

I'm wondering if we're going to see some French animated shows that were on Cartoon Network get in?

Totally Spies would easily be top contenders for a fighting game like this and would probably have a decent chance since Season 7 is going to be airing soon (not sure which gadget each spy gets), as would the Lyoko Warriors from Code Lyoko (whom are clearly suited to be fighters, though they're a bit on the niche side of things, though rumors of a potential comeback are popping up).

Yuri Lowenthal liked a Tweet teasing what the MVS team has been working on. Hmm...

The obvious assumption of his involvement is Ben 10, but there's always the possibility he's The Other Darrin for a film character or possibly voicing a DC character.

Less likely is that he's reprising Smoke or Mercury, given that Smoke probably wouldn't be among the first MK kharacters added, ditto for Mercury and RWBY (plus, y'know, the whole "WB is probably selling RWBY" thing).

Or, longshot, he may just be personally hyped for the game and not directly involved in it yet. But that's no fun to speculate about.

...dang no RWBY in Multiversus.

I didn't know Smoke was even a possibility or MK kharacters in general.

If we were to get a MK rep, it would likely be either Sub Zero or Scorpion. Johnny Cage is also most likely an option.

There's also Raiden and Liu Kang that they could use.

What version of Ben does Yuri voice? The alien force one right?

Sorta, though Teen Ben has a lot more aliens to work with, and was present across 3 different series. Or they could pull a Punch Time Explosion and add both Kid and Teen Ben.

On one hand the younger Ben is the more iconic of the two, and it's at the very least the one CN actively tries to push. On the other hand it wouldn't surprise me if PFG actively pushed for teen Ben out of pure Author Appeal. Can totally see them preferring teen Ben's more comic book superhero approach.
