I for one am quite glad they unified the artstyle. I wasn't looking forward to Mad Max, Paul Atreides, Aragorn and Jon Snow all on screen at once and all looking like some gruff Perma-Stubble tough guy wearing black. [lol]

Well, I, for one, am NOT happy they unified the artstyle, because sometimes the best part of crossover fighters is the clash of different styles. Now all we have is one style that’s one step away from just being Fortnite.

And yes, Lebron James is rumoured for dlc. The fact no one can dismiss this as a possibility doesn’t bode well, in my opinion.

The biggest warning sign for me, however, is that there’s hardly anything in this game that Warner Brothers isn’t currently trying to sell. The only series they don’t make billions from at this current time is Game Of Thrones and Steven Universe, and I’m pretty sure they only got in because they were short on female fighters on the popularity level of Wonder Woman. If this was Nick Brawl, there’d be something like Courage The Cowardly Dog or Johnny Bravo.

A good writer puts in a lot of details in there story. But a great one gets a story from a single detail.

I think Scorpion and Sub-zero could get revealed at the VG As

Cant wait for Max dood's reaction to it, especially because he wanted Sub-zero in smash for the longest time

If Warner Bros cared about japan, they would have put in RWBY already.

I was going to suggest Warner Bros use their Japan branch to get Jotaro in, but apparently they only publish the anime, and don’t have the full rights to JOJO. Besides, Namco has the video game rights.

Ehh... not really. It's just the live-action characters that have that art style. The cartoon characters in general seem to look like their original selves. Steven isn't modeled in the same style as Rick, for instance. And really, the reason Arya and Gandalf look like that is so they won't look out of place next to the toons, otherwise things would probably end up looking like Jack Sparrow next to Donald Duck in Kingdom Hearts 2.

[up]Pretty sure [up][up] was talking about Smash not using MK because of Japan.

But also, yes, Team RWBY in this please.

Pretty impressive that they managed to get almost all character an actor that portrayed them in the past sans Steven and i guess Wonder Woman.

Did Eric Bauza ever play Tom and Jerry? I know he has voiced a lot of the Looney Tunes but not the cat and mouse

Huh. Was Susan Eisenberg not available?

Oh, well, Abby Trott is great, I'm sure she'll do fine.

Honestly, I assumed they'd recycle William Hanna's Tom screams like the movie did. Jerry, to my recollection, doesn't really make any noises period.

I assume Rick will be voiced by Justin as usual, but what about Gandalf? I don't know if they'd be able to get Ian McKellan, and his VA from LEGO Dimensions, Tom Kane, retired this year.

Sounds like they didn't get Zach Callison to voice Steven... hopefully Estelle came back for Garnet.

That aside, this looks cool so far! The team/attack synergy mechanic is neat, the game looks pretty (if a bit bright), and the references are aiming to be fanservice central with some of the more deep-cut ones, which I am all for.

Edit: and I got [nja]'d by the cast list. Oop.

Fortnite didn't invent stylized 3DCG human character designs. I'm actually more sick of people attributing that game as an example for Follow the Leader in terms of basic cartoony art direction.

The only series they don’t make billions from at this current time is Game Of Thrones and Steven Universe, and I’m pretty sure they only got in because they were short on female fighters on the popularity level of Wonder Woman.

A weird rationale considering the amount of properties Warner Bros. owns, such as The Powerpuff Girls. Game of Thrones has an upcoming prequel series lining up with House of the Dragon, and Steven Universe also isn't a slouch in the popularity department either.

I would say styling the live-action character in the art-styles is necessary cause ya know live-action looks fucking boring when put alongside cartoons.

Gandalf and Arya need a little bit more flash if they are gonna be in a video-game.

The thing about speculating about this game is that WB owns so many things that i have no clue where to start.

We have leaks as a reference at least.

Longshot pipe dream pick: Maxwell.

Looks promising so far and I'm excited to see how the mechanics and characters all pan out. That said, I'm cautious considering the freemium model and WB Games being WB Games... but still, the potential and promise is there.

Ohhh yeah, I forgot Maxwell was owned by WB. Suddenly that DC Comics crossover game makes sense...

I think my go-to pick would be K.O.. Boy's a love letter to fighting games (and old anime) and it'd be a joy to see him again

Though if they leave the Warner siblings out of this game that would be an actual crime.

This is probably a bit of a pipe dream, but I hope one of Garnet's alternate costumes is her wedding dress - I would love to see her beat the shit out of people in that

Here's my wildcard pick: one of the Friends.

Just seeing Ross or Joey or any of those guys fighting cartoon characters, superheroes, wizards, and shit would be hilarious.

Honestly with so many properties that WB has, I'm surprised that I'm not interested in anyone.

Like, I love Gumball, but if he is added, I wouldn't be hyped or main him.

If I had to say, the only ones I would be exited to see would be:

  • Flug and/or Demencia from Villanous.
  • Freakazoid
  • Anyone from Sym-bionic Titan just to show that really anything goes, and not only the mainstream properties.

If Warner Bros cared about japan, they would have put in RWBY already.

Wasn't TimeWarner (or whoever's in charge) looking to pawn off Rooster Teeth earlier this year? That probably complicated things.
